I don’t exactly share your opinion.  But those are all awesome.  I’m in IT so dilbert is definately cool.   All of those are good for me….  But not top 5 good….  With exception of South Park.  I think that’s #1.   Their concert on paramount is amazing

as I tell my son.  You like what you like and don’t apologize for that.   Just because I like this and you that is irrelevant to you.   Anyhow

No order.  I like filthy cartoons

family guy

south park

archer

drawn together

My son just got into it.   He’s in his teens.  He sends me rando clips all the time.  The show is done so well.   Beyond hilarious.   Top 3 adult / funny cartoon easily

Nothing beats the first 5-6 seasons of Southpark, those were the good days

The new Trump ones are brilliant.  The idea to just make saddam Trump and have him naked  with his little pecker  is nuts.   I also love the satan character.    Actually I love all the characters.   Randy. Butters.  Those two are fantastic

This part...there's so many on here quick to say he won't be good because he "won't know how to get up off bottom". He's one of the greatest to ever come out of Japan, and he's still yet to reach his prime. He's the single fastest wrester I've ever seen on a mat. To think he won't be able to EXPLODE out of the bottom is just ludicrous.

Absolute strawman.

There is literally nobody saying he won't be good.  People are saying bottom in folkstyle wrestling will be an adjustment and will be the best place to try to beat him.  It's amazing that those type of statements are somehow being portrayed as doubting him.

He's awesome.  He is also brand new to folkstyle mat wrestling.  Those two things will combine in an interesting way.  He will definitely be better in neutral than on the mat next year.  Even if he's terrible on bottom it might not matter.  But pretending he already learned bottom and it won't be a potential issue is weird.

Yojiro Uetake come over from Japan to wrestle for Oklahoma State from 1964-1966. He went undefeated all three years and won an Olympic gold medal for Japan in 1964 and 1968. I have no idea how well Ono will do, but to act like the switch to folkstyle is an insurmountable impediment to great NCAA success seems faulty to me.

How long did it take Uetake to learn how to beat the far ankle scramble?

The gap between freestyle and folkstyle was very small back then.  It is very large right now.

Randy is phenomenal. My jaw hit the floor the first time with naked Trump, LOLOL.

I think he likely takes multiple losses to a guy who is good on top.  That's the one hole in his game coming from freestyle.

The easiest position to learn, I am sure after 2 years in that PSU room, he can get off bottom. The Cubans at Iowa State never had issues.

Eierman easily pinned Echemendia with a cradle,  true frosh Seidel stuck 27 year old 2x age group champ Ortega  not long ago.

Seidel has tech'd or pinned 90% of the people he has wrestled this year, top is a lot of the reason.  Those guys have wrestled folk their entire lives. . 27 year old Ortega has and was actively still wrestling FS nationally.

You're making my point.

I'd call getting pinned having trouble.

Ono not even actively wrestling.  Wonder what Seidel could do to him if he got a chance on top?

That Ono dude.  Sort of is competing in fs if you count bad weight cuts…. His last competition date was roughly when the bears won the Super Bowl though.   I think Mike Tyson has competed more recently

You have any evidence to think they went in the other direction.

again.  The programs biggest eye  sore is wrestling 141 this weekend.  Everyone says Carl will be punting him away from the program next year.   That’s evidence he isn’t Godzilla in the room.  If he was the cry baby would be gone today

I mean Bo bassett was turning 26 the last time Ono competed lol

You clearly don't know what you are talking about - Basch has Braeden Davis on his Feel Good Team; you know guys America is rooting for and want to do well.  Basch said he's an excellent team player for coming out of redshirt when Nagao got hurt and that Davis got unwarranted heat this year from the public.  Basch says he deserves to make the podium and that Basch is rooting for him.

Basch is NEVER biased and ALWAYS knows what he's talking about

holy shit, I feel like I am talking to my wife.  Let's wait and see, stick around next year.  We will see how many matches ONO loses because he cannot get off bottom. We will see if all the 133lbrs start talking, and they figure out to take top on their choice because he is so weak on bottom.

True, but he has also been in that Penn St room planning on being "the guy"next year. Ortega has zero elgibilty left, and until last year they didn't even think about him competing in FS. He was in there to stay in shape, and trying to make a world team.

I don't doubt that he will be good, but we will see!

Should manage his weight better then.    Maybe he hangs out with Daniel Cormier

Is he a prodigy? Were pundits predicting that he'd be a multi time olympic champion when he was 10? He won a non Olympic worlds at 20 and surprised a lot of people. 20 is young, but not unusual for a light weight. I think Spencer fits the mold more.

nah no one knows but it’s fun to use the results of recent matches to predict future ones. He’s a super tough m’fer in many ways but a good rider may very well be a problem for Ono. Time will tell.

I think someone with Ono’s skill-set, athleticism and build has the potential to be exceptional on bottom. All he’s lacking is experience. A year in that Penn State room is worth 5-6 years in a high school program.

But setting that aside for a moment, when is the last time a top 5 wrestler at any non-285 weight class (let alone a lower weight class like 133 or 141) has lost purely because they weren’t good on bottom?

I guess you could argue Marcus Blaze in his last 2 against Davino, but I’d blame Blaze’s inability to get to his offense rather than his being slightly less proficient in rideouts.

The 3 point TD has kind of removed the need to be great on bottom.

Ono gets a minimum of 5 minutes per match on his feet. If he’s so bad on bottom that he’d choose neutral, you can make that 7 minutes. If someone can withstand his offense for 7 minutes without giving up a TD or stall(s), then good on them. I don’t see many (anyone?) doing that.

Blaze just got rag doll ridden in the third place bout…. Cost him the match.

he had a year in this room and has been  practicing getting off bottom since he was like 5 years old
