The interviews of PSU wrestlers by PSU wrestlers has been one of the online highlights for me this season. Ono will not lose a match during his college career. Book it.

I think he likely takes multiple losses to a guy who is good on top.  That's the one hole in his game coming from freestyle.

imo - that “hole” has been filling in throughout the 2026 season. Practice makes perfect. He will be ready in 2027

Previous guys who came overseas did not address that hole in one year.  He is better than previous guys, so who knows.  But it usually takes a lot more practice to make bottom wrestling perfect.

Ono isn’t one of those wrestlers “who came from overseas.” He is different. Once he gets hold of the single leg, well you watch the tapes. He is different imo. Bottom game has been and is being perfected as we speak. He will intimidate most and beat them all in his weight class next season.

Partied in State College and missed weight at a December national FS event in Japan.

KIdney trouble correct?

So 1-0 with a victory over a smaller Spencer Lee in which no technical points were scored?  "Lightning Luke" scored more technical points against Spencer.  So he didn't get to his super powered single? (you know... just watch the tapes.)

So he won Worlds in fall of 2024 and has had one match since?  One match in 1.5 years, or am I missing something?

No question, he will be super interesting and maybe even a favorite- but he is going to be gameplanned.  Will it be enough?

nah, not at all. I watched a lot of what goes into both mental and physical training wrestlers in Japan. It’s both powerful and inspirational. Ono is a product of that.

Is he going to get a chance to wrestle? Will they redshirt Blaze to make an opening? I wouldn't be surprised in Nate Desmond is beating him in Folkstyle in the room

Geez. Pierce's English is worse than Ono's

It's weird when native English speakers speak in broken English when talking to non-native English speakers.  DC is the epitome of this when he's chopping it up with Khabib and Islam.  I suppose it's better than talking louder, LOL.

What weight is Ono going to wrestle, assuming that he suits up for PSU in the coming seasons?  International and NCAA weigh ins are two totally different beasts...

If he was super man ready they would have kicked that violent cry baby off of the team by now and he would be in at 141 this weekend….

Which part.  The violent fighting with police part?.  Or the cry baby part ?   Or the part he would be kicked off the team if they had a backup that was ready?   Or the part that he is an embarrassment to the team?

So how many open D1 folkstyle matches did he win this year or are you saying he never makes the lineup?

Between the single leg and the intimidation he should be fine on bottom.

It’s called phonetic convergence or the chameleon effect and it’s a natural thing across all languages
