Such a mismanagement of talent. always trying to cut people down to fit their "best possible" lineup, and people just keep getting injured. Swiderski, Paniro, Frost, Ech, Zerban

I’ll give you Frost and Swiderski.

Paniro, Ech, Zerban injuries were at their own preferred weights. What?

Ferrari's to Ok State would be hilarious....yet intriguing.

That circus left town.  No more tickets may be sold.  Please?

Especially if he won another NC there.

haha...wait until they visit and they find out Ross redshirts, Ryder gets surgery and takes his Med shirt, and they can add two NC to the lineup when they are chasing PSU....

Let’s hope not. OSU Administration and the community would not be thrilled. Dude was a menace. Tons of stuff I heard from friends and family there that didn’t make it to forums. Second chance sure but dude is on his nth chance.

Do people honestly think that AJ can win a National Title now?  I don't.  He's an easy top 6 at either weight but I don't see him winning another.

At 97? No way. At heavyweight? I think he would have a decent chance. Especially with out much it clears out next year.

Yep....that's a lot of points, two possible NC, and Ross and Ryder get to redshirt (med) for a year. Add that to what is already coming back...

Of course he can....Feldman and Cooter are the top two coming back at heavy.

Ferrari situation is really interesting. (what else is new)

nebraska essentially said they weren't renewing his deal.

the obvious thing would be for him to go to Iowa w/ Angelo.

but Beth Goetz won't allow it. that's from AJ himself.

so now what?

if it's not iowa, does the family look for a place that will take both (or all three) ?

the only thing we know right now is AJ won't be at Nebraska and won't be at Iowa.

Ech's preferred weight is 149, and I would have loved to see him there this year.  I'm alluding to the fact that despite having a log jam of talent between 141-157, the last 2-3 years,  they always manage to screw it up.

You aren’t wrong. It seems like ISU has pushed their guys to make big cuts over the past few years and it hasn’t worked at NCAAs for the most part.

Seems like they should have probably went

125 Poulin

133 Grice

141 Frost

149 Echemendia

157 Frost

165 Zerban

The only season ending injury he has ever had was up at 149.

Grice had a torn up knee from November until February.

Ech had an easier time making 141 after his medical situation last summer. Wouldn’t shock me if he’s at 141 again next year.

Zerban wrestled well at 57 for 3 years and you want to bump him to 65 to get a small 157 in the lineup?

Other than the season ending injury he had at 141.

The injury he had during his 5th match at NCAA’s after making 141 all year with little issue? Weird.

You are right. They had the perfect lineup. I hope they continue to approach it the same way. Might as well go with Frost at 133 again and Echemendia at 141 again. Maybe the other Frost can make 125?

No, the one where Eierman cradled him and he screamed and didn't wrestle again the rest of the season.  February 7, 2021.

Your solution was to make 3 of the guys undersized at 49/57/65, just to make room for Evan Frost at 141 and a guy at 133 who tore his knee in November.

I understand you are salty because ISU is rumored to gut Stanford (won’t happen btw), but be less dense.

Echemendia himself said publicly he wanted to go up. Idk who to believe on whether he had a tough cut, you or him. Either way, you are right I am salty. Good chat.

And he did go up, got hurt one month in, got an infected ankle and now has an easier time making 141.

Good chat.

Good interview with Manning today... Ferrari will need knee surgery. Sounds like the biggest factor of his departure was that they were set at 197/Hwt and Ferarri is injured. Not hard to see that based on those two things their NIL money could be used other places in the lineup. Had a lot of good things to say about AJ despite what people think he thinks.
