I don’t see the transfers thing as a major issue…if anything it brings in a level of well rounded experience a lot of teams don’t have. Everybody just needs to come in and do their part, win their matches and it will be fine. Do you have the right guys is always the bigger question.

Here is the concern. OU is playing the portal game, and they do not have a lot of money to play that game, compared to the "major programs". At some point, you have to develop your recruits. Kish has fVcking sucked at development. 125 is a stud, so that will look good on his resume. I don't see how Braun does not see the lineup, to be honest I thought he could be Powe, and he and wells had some tight matches last year. I do not keep up with that program as much as I did in the past. I think they had 500K last year total all on for NIL, I do not know what they have this year. I am crossing my fingers Chad Richison gets back to being involved in the program, and then you will see some changes. Kish aint the guy IMO, but then you might ask, who is. I don't know who would want that job. The down hill slide started with Lou. At that point, they could have got a young, up-and-coming coach that I believe would have changed the trajectory of that program. I know there were some OU alums that were interested in that job, now, they are not. $$$$$ would change that, but again, they just don't have alot of that. The final start was when they pushed Ware out. That was the last tie to that program, and he is a good coach. We shall see.....someone said, if Kish does not show up this year, he will be on the hot seat. This is the best team he has had, and this is almost the Texas Tech of wrestling. ALL of these guys are bought, they have a lot of money in this team.

All the sentiments I posted when commenting on OU this coming season (including the curious quip about the temperature of Kish's seat).

I will say and I do agree, there is a part in the coaching of wrestling programs and transitioning to a new staff wherein you do kind of have to weigh in on whether they field is offering you any improvement over what you are currently sitting with and whether or not the transition costs will be out-weighed by that new coaching staff coming on. Kish may very well be the best option for OU for the next year or few years until someone they view as a better fit for the program direction, as well as pay, comes along. Different from a sport like football or basketball where the coaching carousel is consistently full of young and old guys with varying forms of experience, and also the ability to simply throw a bag and steal someone from a program.

Let me throw this in there too. I have personally talked to 3 D1 coaches, one of which I would say we are pretty close. I am told most the coaches think Kish is a moron. Now, maybe that is not fair to say "most coaches" because that is a pool of 3 out of ????. My point, he seems to not be well liked or respected. OU will never be what it was back in the day, but I do think they could get a better coach.

I am not close enough to Kish or the situation to have an opinion one way or the other. Kish is from Lapeer, Michigan, which is about as close of a connection as we have. That said, I was mostly using the OU situation to talk about a more broad point regarding coaching and hiring new coaches.

Aside from that point, I tend to agree that I think Kish and OU are a bad fit for both parties in that I don’t think he can get them where they think they should be, and I think they expect to be somewhere they are going to struggle mightily to get back to, if they ever do.

Kish at NDSU made more sense to me, and the kind of “success” he reached there was likely his ceiling, IMO. But I’ve never spoken to him nor run an AD/wrestling program and attempted to hire someone to turn a program around, etc., so I will defer to your sources who seem to be more in the know

Emanuel Psikarakis took some sage advice from his long time friends Stephen Little and Vince Cornella.  Honor your name, and success will follow they said.  Emanuel Psikarakis is transferring from Sacred Heart to Emmanuel College

Kish was not liked or respected by the fans/alum at NDSU either.

Interesting, I did not know that.

I wasn't aware of any of that, I meant more the profile of the job and the amount of success (or lack of) that he achieved over his tenure there. Seems he is better fit for something like that

You gotta do more than that…tell your brother/sister to force that academic transfer…

did his brother leave scared heart?

His brother is in the portal, but no word of his transfer yet.  Maybe he joins up with bro at Roger Williams?
