I am not trying to argue but would counter that most Olympic hosts go out of their way to make the games accessible, while LA28 is trying to recoup costs. Their $28 tickets for D level seating available to LA County residents isn't it either and were very limited in number compared to the total tickets issued. The wife and I have already conceded that we will go see some one off events, make a long weekend to check out the festivities, and put our focus into Brisbane as it may actually be less expensive than attending in our own country (guaranteed Brisbane will be easier to maneuver around than LA traffic).

Presale was 7/29 13PT and main drop 2 8/11 10PT. Again, the hospitality packages are a joke and money grab by organizers with no real value add to justify the additional cost other than a pay to play.

This feels like the appropriate place to go on a rant as LA28 is absolutely fumbling ticketing. This will be the 4th olympics I attend as a spectator (London to LA, minus Tokyo) and it has been the worst ticketing experience in both price and availability. My theory is LA28 is making the same backward attempt that FIFA made with the world cup, tying a majority of tickets to over priced and generally worthless hospitality packages in an effort to break even or make money. The number I have seen is $2.5 billion they are trying to do through ticketing and that doesn't happen without the inflated hospitality packages. If I can watch 8 days straight of wrestling overseas but can't get a single session living in the host country, that is an absolute and utter failure on the part of the organizers. Edit: My wife and I both got in Draw 1, wife got in Draw 2 Visa presale, I got in Draw 2. No wrestling tickets.

It used to mean something, not anymore. When going D2 to FCS, the Big Sky Conference wouldn't extend an invite to NDSU citing the stadium capacity as an issue. With the change in the college football landscape, it literally doesn't matter. As @Jason Bryant stated, it matters how many eyeballs now. Northwestern has operated with ~12,000 for a long time and do just fine.

I would love to see more money flow to NDSU wrestling with the jump but it is not likely to happen. The $17 million they are paying to make the move to FBS off the jump doesn't help, although I have good indication they've known this invite was coming for the past year and hopefully had donations lined up in preparation for the first big bill. Comments in here regarding revenue sharing going to football, this is absolutely what will happen. NIL collective resources have almost been entirely to football, men's basketball has barely gotten any. So with the move to FBS, this gap will only continue to widen. The Bison Wrestling Club currently handles NIL for NDSU wrestling and is highly discouraged by NDSU and Teammakers (athletics fundraising organization) as they don't want individual sports fundraising so they can control where money goes. Every $1 that goes to something else is viewed as $1 being taken away from them. So in reality the only possibility of a jump in funding is increased donations with the visibility of FBS but I am not optimistic it will be significant. Hopefully I am wrong...

This thread has made picking out the pearl clutching east coast/PSU bandwagoners fairly easy. In reality, most PSU guys are poor sports when they lose. They just lose so infrequently.
