That's true, but with Vega having the length advantage to begin with, and add another eight pounds I would think that he adds leverage more so than Echemendia can add to his leverage by doubling down on his already demonstrable physical strength advantage. But if Ech was sucking wind due to the cut, maybe you're right. Usually I think among lower and middle weights, your success is usually optimized by going as far down in weight as reasonably possible. But some might be cutting so far more than usual that a bump is better. Edited May 8 by flyingcement 1
