Ryder slid towards the end because of injury…

Also, rumor is Ryder is walking around at a very healthy 197 if not 200+. He has done well adding on the mass and expectations (possibly more than his own…not saying he’s been told but maybe) that he will be 197 or is expected to be.

Im not taking anything away from Shumate and I don’t want to say more (especially on the board) than I need to but you’re also highlighting his consistency issues. Same thing with Kilkeary…go wrestle a stud to the wire then get handedly beaten by an unranked guy. All I’m saying is that won’t be a problem with Ryder…in my opinion.

Above is a response to a DM I have been in…I’ll just move it to the thread. The injury I mentioned derailed the tournament yours speaking of and caused him this past season. The rumors I mentioned are people taking about word out of the Jennings/Cavelli facility. Those people could be 100% Wrong but I’ve seen enough out of both of them to say it’s Ryders to lose/Seths to steal. I don’t want to knee jerk on that because of a freestyle tournament…

You're taking this far too personal.

I said it was silly saying that Shumate can't win the spot.  It is silly.  That isn't really refutable when you take both of their entire careers in to consideration as well.

Before the injury you're speaking of, Rogotzke was 9W-6L on the season that year.  Not exactly screaming 'contender' there.

Look at these screenshots.  Neither scream contender, which means both will get their chance.

Unhappy wrestlers in CBUS is what I'm hearing...

Is it because they are trying to bring back the guy who tried to kill his wife?

Luke Geog has 2 years left per Basch

He officially has one right now, but is going to try to get 2024-25 back on a medical.  He went down at Cliff Keen (12/6) that season.

I’ve heard that as well but I’ve also heard that rumor is coming from a hater/disgruntled St. Eds guy with some ties to the program. I’m not tied in like that so I don’t know but it doesn’t seem like it’s effecting recruiting or the top guys on the team…

Oh sorry, definitely not a personal thing. I’m just getting in comments at work while I can and while losing connectivity like crazy. (Copying every reply now just in case) I just believe in what I’ve seen out of Ryders folk style more…I’m nobody though

For the record, I do agree.

I don’t think Shumate does, though.  He is grinding away, man.

Wonder how much Shumate's 3rd place at the US Open Seniors had to do with Geog leaving. He hung with Barr for a while too getting a TD and a throw.....also if the 5 for 5 rule starts next year Waters will immediately compete for 197 as well. Then you have Rogotzke who also took 3rd in Greco Seniors at the US Open...crowded weight and perhaps no guarantee for Geog pushed him out. Probably a smart move for Geog..

He officially has two years left. '25 was a medical RS year.

Norman, but they don't really need Provo. OSU is fat down low, eleven or so from 25-41.

He hasn't finished his eligibility yet, so how could he apply for the medical?

Geog beat him this year 10-4.

The Espinoza-Owens brothers, SDSU have apparently entered the portal.  Moses started out at 157 and jumped to 174 this year where he won two matches at nationals.  Marcus has been at 165.  They are originally from Utah.
