Eiermann, the guy you want to make message board fodder, had a great career at Missouri and Iowa.  In his final season he suffered a knee injury in a dual against Nebraska (meniscus  and ACL tear).  He wore a gigantic brace the rest of the season and tried to salvage the season.   He was an injury forfeit in his final NCAA match.  Eierman expressed gratitude for his career, stating he "gave it everything I had until my knee couldn't take it anymore".

Eierman is a dog.  I wish he would have finished healthy, truly.

Redshirt.  His shoulders are bad.  One reaaally bad.

Sure. If he’s going to battling White for a spot in the future, pack it up. White is going to really good.

Payton Thomas - a Junior from the Naval Academy has entered the portal today

Peyton Cox of NDSU also entered today.

Only people with a variation of that name have entered the portal on 4/8

He did AA with a bum shoulder.

Answer the question...Why isn't AJ in that shameless ad trying to suck athletes away from their programs?

because it's a graphic of transfers that never AA'd before they came to Nebraska.

Ryder better pack his bags

He could come back next year from the shoulder surgery, but it would be great for him to be able to take all of next year off. He's not going to be ready at the beginning of next season. He might be ready in January, but he had Thai injury for a while, and he pushed through the season like a champ and I can't imagine he didn't continue causing more damage. Through Big 12s and NCAAs. You're shoulder really isn't at 100% after a year.

I think Berge slides in the lineup at 184 or 197(if Merrill redshirts).

Forgot Merrill already took his redshirt. Berge is going to have to go 184.

You have shifted from actual mat success to behavior.... the "yeah but your team..."  stage of mourning.  You take a kid that nobody else recruited and make him a national champ, then he goes to the portal. You know the Bob and Tom show has been wining and dining him....or Buds and Sudsing him. There is a lot of anger at the wrestler for doing that...but more at the system for allowing it. I remember how angry I was when the WIllits brothers got a call from an Iowa dad, then tried to claim it was because they were just mutual friends who happened to grow up 2k miles apart. That set me off and we didnt' even lose them to Iowa... but you...you have experience great loss. I have been where you are, it hurts (cue REM). You will recover...it just takes time.

I hate the current landscape... I cant' imagine recruiting a kid that had no other offers (he posted this himself), then have him leave after you led him to a national title. Ultimate slap in the face. I like what NC is doing...unfortunately they, along with the rest of us, will get pillaged. We need a support group.

"You guys" huh?

And, as for the rest of the post, you don't think a guy can be a better coach than someone who coached him?

That is a very weird thought.  It would mean that every coach would constantly be worse than his predecessors.

He fits the current Iowa wrestling style. Good hire
