I don't cheer for any of these old timers who keep hanging around college, taking opportunities from younger wrestlers.

Thats a sad way to think about it. Also watch his new interview with Bader, might change your perspective

If it makes you feel any better, I feel the same way about lawyers, consultants, and other professionals working into their 70s and refusing to pass clients/work onto the younger generation. Just greedy.

So a guy thats a great leader for the team, adds valuable experience for the younger kids, and was given an opportunity is in the wrong? He has a chance to be a 4 time AA but he should just throw it away because you said so.. great logic

Hardy isn't even 40 yet.  When the wrestlers are older than the coaches, we know wrestling jumped the shark.

No issue with the guys making the most of their opportunities but I get the complaint.  Covid year messed things up.

If he was a player/coach like Paul Newman in Slapshot or Crash Davis in Bull Durham, I'd be more sympathetic.

Kinda misleading. The little ice age (?1400 - 1800?) produced incredibly dense wood. Instruments crafted from these trees are special and until the arrival of laboratory-enhanced materials we're unmatched.

Or maybe someone has some entitlement? Go out and earn it yourself like they did.

Meh I kinda get that for the free covid year guys that wrestle in 5 NCAA’s, but Hardy will only wrestle in 4.

Nothing wrong with doing what you love no matter how long you can or how old you get.

I bet you don't rag on Artists who paint into their twilight years or "old" ballplayers.

When it comes to white-collar professionals, they're not doing what they love. They just want the cash grab.

As far as athletes go, nothing was sadder than seeing MJ play for the Wizards, late-career Muhammad Ali, even Randy Lewis get teched by Muz at Midlands a while back. People need to know when to move on to the next stage in life.

Ok this I kinda disagree with.   He’s got 30+ years to work.

Would you want to be a 17 or 18 year old college freshman standing across from him in a dual meet? Doesn't seem fair, does it?

Well 17 is too young for a freshman. He took the opportunity given to him. As would any wrestler.

I was a 17 year old freshman. It's not too young.

"As would any wrestler" - you just made this up. Vast majority of wrestlers opted not to take the covid year. Vast majority every year decline to redshirt and compete 4 yrs. instead of 5.

17 is very young for college. And im sure the vast majority of the wrestlers were a 3x all American too?? The vast majority decline to redshirt?? Hmm more like the very high end dont redshirt

If I'm the DI starter at 17 or 18 there must be a reason...
