I would think sometime this week? But it’s a formula, northeast is snowed in, some diehard will probably crank it out before the NCAA does.

I think i saw somewhere (multiple somewheres actually) that Iowa may only allocate 4-5 guys. That’s gonna p!ss off some Big Ten coaches I’m sure. The Iowa guys that don’t allocate will still likely qualify but they’re “stealing” a spot from another guy in the conference. None of these guys, including most of those Hawks, are gonna do much at NCAAs but still, could be a handful of on the bubble Big Ten guys who don’t get that shot at an NCAA dream. Sucks. Just the way things are working out this year.

Powerful B1G teams trying to manipulate post-season play?  Never heard of such things.

I'm curious if that filters out to other conferences getting an extra allocation or if it'll end up in the at large pool; would require someone to look at each weight individually that Iowa doesn't allocate and compare historical allocations by conference at those weights and I'm not curious enough to do that

I’m not sure either. Good question. I’m curious too.
They have a set number to get to, but different ways to get there if the Big Ten gives them some excess. Spread it to other conferences? Maybe another SoCon kid or 2 gets to live a dream? Or does it go into the at large pool and a kid on the bubble or 2, get to live that dream? @SetonHallPirate any thoughts or info on this??

I know it's a numbers game; so that allocation would go wherever the math says it will but obviously any given year any weight gets different # of allocations and there's different # of at-large's available

but ya, @SetonHallPirate if there's a way to figure out who (or what conference) is benefitting from Iowa's struggles this year I'm curious

Are you sure on them qualifying all those even if they dont finish top whatever it is. 197 I dont see it, heavyweight like a 5-5 record....

Iowa records with possible questions of allocations.

141 Peterson 10-4

157 Williams 7-7 or voinovick 8-4

184 Angelo 9-1

Heavy Ben 5-5

If things go sideways for lets say Williams going 1-2 at BIGs and Ben going 1-2 at BIGs... I dont see them getting in the tournament....

... and if they get in how many points will they score?

There's a chance that 125 doesn't allocate.  Peterson is at .714 so the win% couldn't jump to .720 there.

If Iowa goes with Bailey at 141, he would allocate.  Peterson is questionable

149 comes down to RPI as Block will have the CR but not the win %

157 Doesn't look like an allocation

At 184.  Arnold would allocate as he's 8-3 at the weight and would most certainly get CR30 but Ferrari doesn't have the matches for RPI and is ineligible for the coaches as he hasn't wrestled in 30 days.

197 Is not an allocation

285 is not an allocation with no win % or RPI

Are we sure Arnold is going 184? Also with a bad tournament will some of these guys miss ncaas?

What's being said right now is Angelo is back for Bigs and Arnold bumps to 97

I Don't Agree With What I Posted

So will 197 and 184 not have allocations? Or will Arnold's matches count?

Only matches at the weight in question count.  Arnold would allocate at 184 since he has 11 matches at that weight but not 174 or 197 since he doesn't have enough matches at those weights.

I have no ideas about Iowa's intentions, only posting the fact that Arnold has the matches to allocate at 184.

Fair enough. Doesn't this risk a couple Iowa guys missing Ncaas?

It doesn't put Iowa wrestlers at any more risk that any other BIG wrestler other than their accomplishments might not get them an at large.

If 285 has 8 allocations instead of 9 because of Keuter not getting an allocation, If Keuter places top 8,  it hurts the wrestler who places 9th since they lose the autobid or 10th more since placing one spot out of automatic qualifier is a factor in at large bids.   It is important since the 9th highest ranked 285 is Hunter Catka, a top 20 hwt.

But if keuter doesnt finish top 9. Hes out. Same with Williams. Which isnt a stretch to say
