In MMA, who wins between these former college standouts? Would be a great scrap.

I would take Hokit right now although his Gimmick to me is insufferable. He called for Vitor Walker in his next fight and if he gets that he will probably end up with a torn up knee so during his layoff I think Gable can close the gap. Hokit has just had more time and more high level experience so far.

How many fights does Gable have?  2?  He has taken no damage … why is it such a slow pace of fights?

Gable is having the issues as Cassar when Anthony was trying to get into MMA, no low level guy wants to take a fight against at heavyweight against ncaa champ/ olympic gold medalist

Hokit looks pretty good right now , the dude is just an athlete. D1 AA while starting and having a lot of success on the football team, a few guys have tried but no one has come close to replicating that.

Now it looks like it could happen at some point. Super fun fight. Gable major wrestling advantage but Hokit can land right on the button. And bet Gable will be able to punch too.

Recently yes. Most guys just go one sport now.  Jess Lewis was a 2x NCAA champ at heavy and AA DT in football as well at Oregon State.  Pretty big play when he ran down OJ Simpson in 1967.

I want to see Pat Downey wrestle Steveson....all three styles and MMA.

Downey doesn't have the gas tank to make it through one match let alone 4

I was in the building when he showed up the night before Oly Trials to check weight.  Walked into the Bryce Jordan Center reeking of weed, said he had driven straight there from Baltimore.  Feel like he just hot boxed his car for the drive up.

Just think how good he could have been if he really dedicated himself

I'm not a fan of giving people credit for the talents they have naturally if they refuse the talents they could have taken for themselves.

Gable not making any friends amongst the MMA crowd.

They will watch to root against him.  What is the general consensus on Hokit from the MMA crowd?  I know most of them agree with a lot of what he says, but I feel like I’ve seen a lot of people being critical of just the fact that his whole persona is a bit (although you can’t deny it helped him get this title shot so soon)

Steveson knocked out by a bum.

Hokit getting title shot.

But I kinda think Steveson would win.

I think steveson is too methodical for MMA. In wrestling he can stand around insulated by his athleticism (and earned skill), and out of nowhere pull out a seem-less set-up/shot/finish combination that blows your mind, and its really hard to crack his shell before he pounces...MMA might be too choatic for him.

I don't know MMA or anything, but I have a feeling a mediocre wrestler who lived his life in desperate choas might be better tuned for MMA than I freak who is used to controlling the mat almost every second of his career.

If he keeps getting knocked out in the 1st round he will just turn into a laughing stock, hopefully he gets some softer matches so he sticks around, I have been enjoying the argument between Willie Mat Scout vs. Ben Davis on X regarding Gable.
