Among other data showing that were falling behind other developed countries in various indicators of quality of life. Too much crappy pesticide-and sugar-laden food, pollutants and infrastructure (or lack thereof) that require you to drive your fat lazy butt anywhere you go.

Not to mention drastically overpriced medical care.

He sucks overall. I do like his opposition to fluoride and all the crap we put in food supply though.

ACA successfully made healthcare affordable. The ACA is an outstandingly good program.

Red or blue doesn't matter. What matters is that lower income folks can get help with their health care.

The billionaires will keep making billions, that won't change.

I can't imagine anyone having a problem with keeping Americans healthy, even if it costs the billionaires less than 1%.

Good news…

Exercise and maintaining a healthy weight adds five years.

The difference between an upbeat and grateful person versus a negative nancy and chronic complainer is about 10 years.

Eliminating drugs, guns, and alcohol only adds about 1.5 years.

MAHA is a choice in your control.

I am middle class (yes, the majority of us), mine is far from affordable, not even close, and the coverage we have is awful and expensive. So yeah, where did it make it affordable? The poor already had good health coverage. Minnesota had a great, scalable system called MNCare, which provided quality health care to all US citizens. Obamacare destroyed that program. Our insurance has been considerably higher since Obamacare. It is not working, do we need good HC yes, we can agree 100% on that, of any issue that should be bipartisan, this is it.

Obama care, as V says, has made things more expensive.  And that is with the subsidy that is ending at the end of this year.   Just imagine how bad it will be without that subsidy.

Sounds like education.    Spend more money for a worse product.

If you wingers think health care costs will drop any significant amount if we eliminate Obama care, I have a glacier to sell you.

Said wingers told the Ds that obamacare would drive costs up because it is a subsidized situation.   But the Ds would not listen and here we are.

Health care costs have increased faster than inflation partially due to subsidization but Obama care is only a small part of that. Medicare and refusing to turn away anybody that shows up at hospitals are much bigger parts of the subsidization. Should we just tell these people to fend 4 themselves? If not, then obamacare barely makes a,dent because these people are entitled to medical care either way.

There seems to be a genetic component to longevity.  It might be a more powerful correlation to longevity than geography and, perhaps, even causal.  Crazy idea, I know.

If we take the percentage of American genes and then look at the world's populations with all the same percentages does that basket of genes come out above or below 46?  Is our decline recently due to the change in the genetic mix?

Another way to ask this is Do Japanese Americans die faster than Japanese?  Do African Americans die faster than Africans?  Do TransAmericans die faster than TransEuropeans?

If we are going to get all science-y and start throwing around statements like "crap country" let's do the math and figure out if we are, in fact, just a reflection of a bunch of crap genes.

Do we have anyone good at math and spreadsheets and statistics who can help us here?  I would do it but I have been accused of applying garbage math by some of our more worthy brethren.

Agreed that the wealthiest country in the world should be able to provide healthcare for those that can't afford it.

That seems the most decent and human concept since Jesus. (And I mean that literally.)

ACA/ObamaCare has made healthcare far more affordable than it had been. If you still don't think it's affordable - then you should consider that it would cost far more without it.

If you still think HC is too expensive, then you should join the conversation between R's and D's right now that is keeping the government shut down. D's are defending affordable health care on their side - R's want to take funding away from affordable health care.

Don't believe me. It's the truth, and it's all out there for you to read up on if you feel like googling it.
