I'm saying you have to be real and understand what fights you have a chance to win.

There is a non zero chance that the country will change on this topic.

A waste of time.

Quote me where I said that.

You're defending the Senate, which is 1 state, 2 vote. I'm opposing the Senate on the principle 1 man- 1 vote. Do you need every thing spelled out explicitly for you? I assumed you were an adult of at least average intelligence. I could be wrong though.

Federalism is not solely established through the Senate. It's established through the Constitution.

The primary purpose of the Senate having 2 senators was exactly written for demographics - to balance the power between low population states and high population states.

"The equality of representation in the Senate is another point, which, being evidently the result of compromise between the opposite pretensions of the large and the small States, does not call for much discussion. . . "

James Madison, Federalist Paper 62.

See, right there you provided a direct quote about it relating to political compromise for states and nothing to do with demographic groups.

Im defending our current Republic not just the Senate.  We have more than 2 representing each state and representation that goes across state lines.

Well, I'm critiquing the Senate specifically, so feel free to join that discussion whenever you please.

WTF do you want to completely change a core principle in the country that so many foreigners want to join and so many "haters" refuse to leave?

You're the one dismissing perhaps THE core principle that defines America - that we have the freedom to advocate for political change!

What core principle am I trying to change? The structure of the Senate is not a core principle. Removing the Senate does not eliminate the sharing of power between states and the federal government.

Well you can critique the Senate but you can't say it is DEI. Because Senators are elected representatives based on a majority vote.  when they vote federally, they are representing their majority of voters

Lmao you picked the word I didn't bold. I was referring to "large" and "small" which would a statistical characteristic that can be used to categorize states within the overall US population. Population size is a demographic feature.

Is distinguishing between large and small state populations a demographic distinction?

Yes — but with a nuance.

If you’re distinguishing U.S. states by the size of their populations, you are making a demographic distinction, because population size is a demographic characteristic. For example, comparing California (large population) and Wyoming (small population) is a demographic comparison.

They do have a say in the country. Voting blocks don't follow state size. It's not 1790. Texas and California don't vote together because they're big. Wyoming and Rhode Island don't vote together because they're small.

The House *actually* accomplishes what you think the Senate is supposed to accomplish. Rural districts elect candidates to represent them. Urban districts represent candidates to represent them. There are Republican House members from the most liberal states in the country and Democrat House members from the most conservative, each elected to represent their local constituencies.

If you’re for DEI why aren’t you for the senate and house both having equal representation????? Shouldn’t it be two for each state in both the house and the senate then?

Which is why in the house California has way more reps than Wyoming.

I like the popular vote because I believe in 1 man - 1 vote. That's the spirit of elections. Everybody is equal, regardless of race, gender, or creed.

That’s not DEI though hypocrite

According to you he’s actually defending DEI by defending the senate right?
