Really great showing from USA especially considering aside from Luke and Trent this was pretty much all third tier and beyond guys. I thought Luke,Dean and Blaze were the biggest standouts. Great win for Marcus too but I don't see him as a guy who ever threatens to make a team. Dean feels like he could be best suited to make an impact on the international level, but Levi seems like he may have his number stylistically in free.

Why would we send this team to face Russia

Looks like Russia sent better guys

Because they were already over there.. Do you really think we're sending one of the Koontz brothers to represent the USA in FS?

This thing was put together last week, so promotion was pretty limited as a result.

Wow!  Really?  That is damn impressive they were able to cobble this together so fast.  Hmmmm.  I love the concept.  Hoping can see more of it.

I was asked to commentate while I was working Fargo. Release was dropped while the majority of USAW staff was in Fargo (all the comms). The in-arena emcee was doing MMA over the weekend in Prague as well. Coordinated it all pretty quick.

Thoroughly enjoyed this meet. Wish this would lead to a return of the dual meet tours of my youth - I remember attending many USA-USSR duals in exotic locales such as Brockport, NY. Well-promoted barnstorming tours would definitely attract fans. But, given how little the best wrestlers compete these days, I doubt there is much interest from many athletes to participate in these events.

I was fortunate to go to Goodwill games in Seattle and saw US/Russia.   John Smith wrestled there, but I was younger and don't really remember anyone else that was there.   I could look it up, but what I do remember is the US won that round and it was a really fun time watching that.
