Busy weekend.  Up early tomorrow to set up the city’s fireworks show, then heading to Palm Beach for Saturday’s Stephen Marley and Stick Figure concert.  Gonna see if the lady wants to have brunch at/near Mar a Lago  before we head back home.

What’s everyone got cookin for the weekend?

We have a special Star Spangled Banner singer every year around 830 and start the big fireworks just before dark.

parachutes and firecrackers for the kids before dark.

a few bottle rocket and roman candle fights for the adults... sometimes...

depends on how many libations

sparklers after the show for the kids.

I'll find a cheap or free flag and burn it. Other than that, great workouts, lots of coffee and quality time w wife and possibly one of my kids. Cooking a few meals myself and fermenting some vegetables.

It's a family bonding thing. Put some burgers on the grill, have beer and burn flag w kids and wife, to some good music. It's fun and harms nobody.

Wouldn’t want you to pass up an opportunity to be angry!  Do what you gotta do to enjoy the birthday of the greatest country in the world, flaws and all!!

(PS: 10-1 he’s not burning any flags…any takers??)

Holiday got off to a terrific start with a broken down car on the way to the celebration set up.  I’m gonna look at the bright side: it got me out of the work and heading to Palm Beach a little early!  Being that I’m on the west coast, across the state, the line below has extra special meaning today!!  Cheers! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

What types of cheese?

I didn't word that very well...it is all the same cheese, Philadelphia block cream cheese, I am just going to season them 4 different ways.  I am going to do a spicy chipotle, everything bagel seasoning, a Mexican blend, and then one using Dan O's Premo seasoning.

Have you smoked cream cheese before?

My family had sushi last evening to celebrate my daughter’s return from a 30 day camp, and an advance on my birthday.  I share a birthday with the nation… Today I will play some Metallica pinball and continue enjoying the day with family.  I will probably do some mechanical work with my daughter on her jeep before the evening… something I enjoy.

Keep talking about cheese… maybe I can try something similar.

I have not.  Nor have I ever tried Dan O’s seasonings, but I like watching his videos.  The prime rib soaked in milk sounds like something worth trying.

Haha the above mentioned break down is a jeep (grand Cherokee), sitting waiting for a tow.  Seems to be a transmission issue, solenoid pack.  Enjoy your day, Happy Birthday! 🇺🇸

I saw that one...and totally agree!

I bought the Dan O's variety pack and have tried most of them...my favorite so far is using the Cheesoning and Premo when making cheesesteak on the Blackstone...so good!
