Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Yea, I meant to say that Iran won't wrestle because their country is bombed, they can't get out of the country, they consider that wrestling is not something that's important now, etc. Altough Palestine participates in sports tournaments even though their country is half destroyed and torn apart.

Iran doesn't wrestle Israel because they don't recognize it and don't want to legitimize it via competing. (neither does most of the Arab world, but they still wrestle Israel).

Iran recognizes US and they will wrestle -- whenever Iran is back in competition. Russia wrestles Ukraine (and Ukraine wrestles Russia). They don't shake hands though - that could also be modus vivendi for Iran-US matches.

I believe the upcoming new head of  Iranian wrestling federation( apparently due to be in post mid August) Rasoul Khadem intends to send a strong team to the world championship in September. I have it from good authority that Hassan Cherati won’t make it for 86 kg ( too concerned about losing to Z. Valencia being a prodigy of D. Taylor apparently)but instead is looking to go down to 79kg.

2024 71kg Cadet FS world champ?  If so, yes, he won junior nationals over Hosseini ( 2023 cadet world silver at 71kg, lost to Lockett USA in the final) and then won a junior tournament in Armenia also. He would be going to junior asians and junior worlds but I don't see Iran sending a team, so his year is probably over as far as wrestling goes but we will see. I said in the iran news thread that I think he has a good future.

I think he has an incredibly bright future. The german he beat at cadets is a behemoth of a cadet and he held position against him which is something Melvin miller could not do. I was watching Wagins u23 Euro matches and thats what made me think of him. Iran seems to have really good depth at 74kg just nobody ready to crack that top 3 level quite yet.

Shamsipour wont be a 74, he is already wrestling 79kg. He is a big boy. I was very impressed he jumped from cadets to juniors and  also jumped from 71 to 79 in a matter of a few months and was still was able to win the junior trials in a good field.

Do you expect a Yazdani/Amouzad growth trajectory? or do you think he settles in at 79.

He can easily go 86 at the very least.
