So many challenged people out there. Even people on here think we're really cutting into the deficit by going after pidly programs but ignoring the big ones. It's simple math folks. If you don't want to touch military, social security or Medicare you aren't a true conservative and aren't cutting jack squat.

https://fiscaldata.treasury.gov/americas-finance-guide/federal-spending/

Social security 22%

Net interest 14%

Health 13%

Medicare 13%

Defense 13%

Income security 11%

Total of above is 86%. Rest of budget is 14%.

Learn math!!

Wingers drink the Kool aid though and that's why they are cheering for a gop budget that cuts microscopic programs while drastically increasing the overall deficit and budget.

Dumb.

what are you talking about? that makes zero sense.

I'll simplify it for you. The proposed cuts are to programs that are already small, so they don't amount to anything significant. Meanwhile, large expenditures continue to balloon so overall budget and deficit do too.

Your choice. If you want to truly address the deficit, you gotta cut bigger programs. It's simple math. Either you truly want to address the budget or you don't. It's very simple.

Why do you keep reiterating the same thing over and over that just isn't true.  Please show us ANYWHERE that says DOGE isn't going to look at the things you claim they aren't.  It is annoying that you keep repeating the same crap over and over that isn't true.  As someone else wrote, this has to be a joke and you are just a huge troll...you can't honestly truly believe the stupidity you regurgitate on here.

DOGE hasn't made any cuts to big programs. Overall they grow by the day and gop budget makes them even bigger.

I don't know if you guys are tracking this, but you're arguing about the smoke screen. Late last night/early this morning, the House passed a bill that has Rand Paul sounding like the only sane person in the party.

Some people wanted to fight with me on another thread about how this was going to go and while this still has to work through the Senate, it sure looks like the Republican super-majority is going to move forward with this fiscally irresponsible bill.

Man...this is tiresome...budgets are passed based on what the people voted for and that is important to them...those things get added to the budget...in the meantime, DOGE was created to remove waste/fraud/corruption from government agencies based on what the people DON'T want to pay for...clearly it is impossible to align those things to happen at the exact same time...one would assume this to be common sense to most...but clearly I shouldn't assume that.  🙄  Do I need to explain the math to you in regard to that??

There's zero indication that doge will make even a dent in overall budget deficit. Keep drinking the Kool Aid.

You just said in the other post...4 months in....wow...talk about drinking the Kool Aid!!  I have extremely low expectations of the government no matter who is in charge, but to expect DOGE to have looked at every single government agency in totality in only 4 months is so unrealistic it is boarding on utter delusion.

Funny part in all of this, I like the idea of DOGE; however, this is our government, so I have very low expectations; however, I don't make any sort of assessment of success based on only 4 months out of a 4-year exercise.  I like that they have found things already, even if a low percentage of the overall budget...it is better than NOT finding it and doing something about it.  I'll give more time to see if they make...hopefully...a much larger dent in the waste.
