We need a legitimate amateur wrestling video game

Would need a big financial backing to make it happen as it’s likely a loss financially. Most kids gravitate to the ball sports, let’s at least try to direct them to the best sport

I've been saying this for years. This is the best way we could simulate some of the greatest wrestlers of all times in their prime having matches.  Smith vs Uetake, Sanderson vs Brooks etc...

As a casual gamer I've thought this for a while now. Wrestling is perfectly set up to translate to common gaming mechanics. Movement, button combinations for offense/defense, combos, power-ups, character stats, skill trees... not to mention gameplay modes like Season, head-to-head, tourneys, time trials, etc. It'd be difficult to develop from a software perspective, and would need gamers/developers/wrestling experts, but if it was done well it could be REALLY cool.

Freestyle seems to be best fit for gaming. Lots of 4s. Lift guys above your head and take them to the mat. Hi-amplitude throws.

The problem is the demand would be tiny.  And the game would be pretty complicated.
