I am surprised some of you haven't called for his hanging...holy crap!?   Something something...glass houses...something something.  These threads are why social media and key board warriors are such a joke.

I’d say the bigger joke is the guy citing bible verses and then paying to cheat on his wife, but maybe that’s just me.

Well, I personally hope he gets back wrestling ASAP. Although I posted stuff above that's a bit hard, I stand by that because, if you step up to a position of moral leadership (and he certainly did), you're going to be held accountable to that. He had no business there, lecturing to young wrestlers about living a Christian life when he clearly couldn't do it himself.

I think a lot of people are growing tired of the "gospel of prosperity", tired people like Ted Haggard, Dennis Hastert, and others telling us how to live while engaging in behavior that's totally anathema to their words. So yeah, Snyder is getting rather tough criticism because of this. I don't wish him ill will, but I don't wish ill will to anybody for that matter.

I don't disagree with most of what you said...other than I don't have a problem with people who preach the gospel (I am not even a religious person myself) and commit crimes (we all are imperfect and make bad decisions), and people who do sin and/or break the law should be held accountable, as appropriate.  However, it is also not like the guy committed murder or raped someone; thus, I personally am not going to judge Synder so viscerally as some on here have.  And my comments aren't only about the judgyness of people but also how people hide behind keyboards on an anonymous message board and say some of the dumbest stuff (yes I know I am on here too).

I wish Synder and his family the best and hope they can all heal and move on in a positive direction after this terrible decision of his.

Touching on my thoughts of what he did. Its gross and terrible for his family, and his statement was laughable he took zero accountability and did not apologize to anyone. I understand the people saying he did not ask to be a role model but if you are putting yourself in a place to financially benefit off kids you should have some accountability for your actions. As to him not apologizing to his wife perhaps he did that in private or they have a different kind of relationship, so I do not have much to say to that. I understand God forgives and you have to repent but there in my opinion needs to be some real-life accountability.

Now about him as a wrestler. I truly believe he was going to have a difficult time medaling this year. He seems rather clearly behind Sadulaev and Taz at this point and has lost to Azarpira twice now. Yoshida and Atimukhan are also guys I could see beating him the former likely making far more improvements than Kyle is at this point and time. What he did does not dimish my perspective of him in the slightest as a wrestler and honestly while I think what he did given having a family was gross his statement or lack there of was more off putting to me.

He is an all time USA great but...

Yoshida beat him recently.  Snyder just has not improved in years, and maybe even slipped since the move to NLWC.  I have been saying this for years.  Never developed par terre and actually seems to have a smaller repertoire on his feet.  Now, there is a growing number of international guys that have passed him or that he struggles with.  Unfortunately not a lot of help for the USA in the near future.

I am optimistic about Rademacher his win over the Cuban at pan ams was pretty impressive that guy is probably top 20 in the world caliber. I am not sure though that he is a medal threat by 2028 he would still need to make pretty big strides year over year.

Glass houses?  Whoa.  Are you suggesting the people who have a problem with this are secretly cheating on their wives and willing to pay to bring diseases back home over quick get offs with hookers?   Pretty interesting you talk about glass houses and keyboard warriors in the same post.

No, we don't all try to go bareback with a prostitute on mother's day while the wife and kids are back at home, and get busted with our units flappin' in a dank hotel, all the while pretending to live a Christ-like existence. No. That's Kyle's thing.

I’m really enjoying all the people here pretending that christianity has a positive  squeaky clean history forgetting that bible thumpers having skeletons in their closet is the norm rather than the exception.

If any individual needs so much jesus in their life that it’s coming out of your eyeballs, historical and institutional trends ***coughcatholicpriestscough***
show that that individuals closet is full to the brim with skeletons, some of which are still very much alive and kicking.

But, that…is the actual point of religion, redemption of the imperfect and compassion instead of judgement, embracing the possibility of the future instead of holding onto anger and contempt for mistakes of the past.

i went to an all catholic college preparatory school known for some great wrestling... we'd have masses, and they'd occasionally bring in brothers from other schools... anyone under the age of 60 was 100% hiding the fact that they liked men. not to say that's wrong, but it was extremely obvious and just strange.

good points, he was gonna have a tough run this year regardless. one thing I always respected about him was that he'd always throw his hat in the ring and compete. too bad that NLWC ruined him.

Just now, The Kid said:

Yeah, they're gay.

To be clear, I was talking about the prevalence of unwelcome sexual advances, not sexual orientation.

Consenting adults should be allowed to be gay for jesus.

I was talking about the priests acting gay.  Nothing more, nothing less.

Mother's Day is always on a Sunday.  Snyder was arrested on Friday, May 9th.  I think this was two days before Mother's Day.  Are you saying two days after getting arrested for soliciting a prostitute he again solicited a prostitute on Mother's day?  Or are you saying this was some previous Mother's day like Mother's Day 2024, 2023, or 2022.  I think Snyder's son was born in the second half of 2021 so I don't think any Mother's Days before 2022 would have the same significance.

I don't know what he is saying then.  It would seem like he is off by two days.

Hes saying 2 days beforehand is as good as the day of mothers day when the event in question is your husband trying to raw dog a hooker and getting arrested for it on camera. Hits the same.

Two days out of 365 days is close enough.

Why not say a week before is close enough too?  A month?  It's bad enough as it stands there is no reason to pretend it was on Mother's day.

You're being a bit pedantic. It was Mother's Day Weekend. The mother of his kids had to deal with the fallout on Mother's Day.
