Any numbers being reported? I would expect more additions to the card, and maybe some drops, after WTT once the team is set. I still question the timing of this event with Worlds. I guess it's just one match, but for anyone who is actually doing this event and competing at Worlds, idk how hard they'll go, or how the 8 weight classes will shake out.

I also wonder if Hulk Hogan will try to be the face of this event, or if he and the other promoters will let the wrestlers on the card shine. He's a bit of a polarizing figure even within the wrestling/pro wrestling community, and perhaps a liability to the league's stakeholders.

I'm surprised Carr and Blades agreed to this given his history of giving his opinion about certain people.

You mean giving his racist with an hard R opinion while cheating on his wife with his best friend's wife?

The name of this affiliation is why I fear it will fail. Guys like Askren are great gets but I think they need international talent to really peak fan interest and I doubt that's going to happen with the name "real American wrestling"

Basically. Other pro wrestlers knew it too. Bad News Brown who was an Olympic medalist in judo supposedly confronted him about it and Hogan backed down, not wanting to get his head kicked in.

No kicks in judo.

Actually, the IOC changed rules on this after acclaimed artist T-Pain, on his track “Blame It (On the Alcohol)” once said:

“I'ma take a shot of Nuvo, shawty, didn't you know / It's goin' down, we can go and kick it like Judo”

That was Andre the Giant that Bad News supposedly confronted.  Bad News and Hulk were always friends, that's why Bad News went to the WWF later.  And Hulk and Linda had already been separated for almost a year by the time the tape happened, that's the reason Bubba and his wife set it up to begin with to try and make him feel better.  They were already split before they even taped the last season of their reality show, only appearing together enough to film it when she came back from California to Florida.

The 2nd part was a setup and everyone was in on it, including Bubba... complete publicity stunt.

As far as the first part, even as a man of color myself, I find it hard to take anything there seriously.  His entire live the last 60 years has been a gimmick, which includes the hard R on every word that has the letter R in it.

There was a different incident where Hogan said something in the locker room and Bad News told him he didn't want to hear that again. The Andre incident happened in Japan, when Bad News made the tour bus pull over and he got off and challenged Andre to come out and settle it.

Bad News certainly never mentioned any incident in his interviews or on his website back before his passing, so not sure where that story would be coming from.

I remember seeing him mention it once. He said something like he never wanted to hear that from him again and said it in a way that he understood there would be a problem if it happened again. And Hogan just apologized to him really quickly and that was it.
