Todd is no longer on staff, expecting that spot to get filled in the next couple of weeks.

I was not aware he was no longer around. Never made sense to me to have to bigger coaches and Maple alone in the lower weights.

Nothing.  He just talked about his injury (torn ACL), when it happened (sometime before collegiate duals, but was exacerbated at collegiate duals, what the rest of the season was like and how limited he was (tough and very), and talked about future plans to compete after he's fully recovered.  It will be in Missouri, at least according to the interview.  There was nothing "announced".

He also confirmed he is looking at 74kg in the future which was assumed but nice to confirm

He is staying in Columbia for the foreseeable future. He just has his house built in Columbia for he and his wife. By the interview I am guessing he is building more houses (maybe a real estate venture). Also, rumor is he is opening a Club (AWA South????) with Peyton Mocco. My Guess, he will continue to train at Mizzou RTC with Jacques and others.
No inside info just what I have heard.

I would say KOT would be huge in the room for guys like Rath, Bambinelli and Heiser to continue developing. Obviously others as well but those guys are in his weight range.

Did you see Askren launching AWA RTC? Not sure the reasoning behind this, but I do not care to get into that. Seems like it would only make sense for KOT to go back to Wisconsin and train there, assuming he is not done with his career.

Askren announced it a couple weeks ago. Basically he has had a desire to coach at a higher level in addition to the youth coaching he does, and WI didn't have an RTC, so he made one and has Evan Wick training there.

I don't expect KOT to leave Missouri any time soon. He's previously talked about the connections he has in the area and how that's important to him, and now he's doing some sort of housing development work. I think that's a big reason why he stayed at Mizzou all five years.

KOT should stay at Mizzou. He should be their next coach (as soon as he get a little more seasoning). He's got great name recognition among the HS kids nationally, plus I bet he's a superhero to the kids who are fans of Mizzou.

As a side note, KOT is doing camps with Missouri wrestling this summer as he recovers. Missouri comes to Idaho every summer to do a camp. They do an excellent job with their camps.

It does sound like he's settled in Missouri, but a lot of us thought Taylor and his family would be a fixture in State College. Folks in Wisconsin should get in his ear. MM too, when the time comes.

As others have mentioned, Keegan is married and a homeowner in COMO.  Kind of a different situation than a lot of recent grads getting into the senior circuit who could probably fit all their belongings in their trunk and move on a moment's notice.

I think it's going to be an RTC announcement with him laying out his expectations for the next cycle (or two) as far as weights as well as coaching aspirations.

I think he heads up to Wiscy, UNIC (if PK intends to stay, which I am sure KOT knows better than any of us), or OSU with Roper (if PK intends to follow... same reasoning as the last bit).

Who is PK?  Patrick Kennedy is the only wrestler that comes to mind and I heard nothing of him being in the portal.  Phil Knight is wrong sport and Paul Krause is a long retired NFL player.

I have no idea what UNIC is, except for a castrated male and its spelled Eunuch.

Parker Keckeisen is the NC from UNI who is also an AWA guy (like KOT).  They grew up together.

The UNIC was a typo and should have been UNI for University of Northern Iowa.

Let's give credit where credit is due when talking about AWA wrestlers: although they are all friends and "teammates" under the AWA banner, Keegan O'Toole is a product of Ben (40 minutes west of Milwaukee) and Parker was coached by Max (10 minutes north of Milwaukee).

I'm not sure what you're getting at with this. I think all of us consider AWA one of the top wrestling academies in America. I'm not sure who isn't giving them credit where it's due.

It's not that people don't give AWA credit, it's that lots of people outside of Wisconsin assume Ben Askren is all these stars' primary coach.  There are several AWA locations throughout the state with great coaches at each site.  Obviously Ben is the public face of the business, but Max and many other coaches had a hand in developing these athletes from a young age.  Ben would probably be the first to give credit to these men and women.

Apologies. I wasn't aware that people thought this. Maybe you and I are in the minority, but I thought it was understood they have a solid team of coaches at different locations. But yes, they're doing a great job, that's for certain.
