So it dawned on me that a lot of people are making some extreme claims about what is going to happen over the next 4 years, so I thought it would be cool to start a thread listing all the outrageous claims being made and then come back and revisit them at a later time.  So let's list them as they come up.  Please try and keep from debating the topic on this thread to try and keep it as clean as possible and easy to review in the future.  Oh...and list the author of the claim if you can.

I'll start with a couple:

- Trump is going to drive us into a great depression with his tariffs - Scrouge

- Trump is going to send legal citizens who have not broken the law to the El Salvador prison - WKN

- The El Salvador prison is a concentration camp - UB

  1. Trump will run for a third term (several on this forum, including Scourge)
  2. Trump would declare martial law or become a dictator on day one (Rachel Maddow, several on this forum)
  3. Trump would repeal the 19th Amendment (women’s right to vote) (posts on X)
  4. Trump would criminalize all protests or free speech against him (ACLU, posts on X)
  5. Trump would seize control of all media outlets (Media Matters, posts on X)

Alarming

  1. Trump would sign a national abortion ban (Kamala Harris, Planned Parenthood, my niece)
  2. Trump would immediately end all contraception access (posts on X, my niece)
  3. Trump would end Social Security and Medicare entirely (AARP, posts on X, family friends)
  4. Trump would ban all gender-affirming care nationwide for adults (posts on X)

  1. Trump would outlaw all renewable energy projects (Greenpeace, posts on X)
  2. Trump would dismantle the EPA and ban all environmental regulations (Sierra Club, posts on X)
  3. Trump would reinstate a nationwide draft for military service (posts on X)
  4. Trump would ban all international travel for Americans (posts on X)
  5. Trump would eliminate all federal housing assistance programs (posts on X)
  6. Trump would mandate religious education in all public schools (posts on X)

@Bigbrog, fun topic.  What are we defining as outrageous?  I quoted jross above but  don't think the run for a 3rd term is an outrageous claim.  I have a few I could contribute but think even if they are highly unlikely are still plausible and not outrageous

I think the definition is personal based...so pretty much anything goes...even if it is a R claim or a D claim.
