I totally hate the current state of college wrestling regarding the mercenary poaching of athletes to "big pocket" programs.  Forget loyalty, just show me the money and let's win at all costs.  My values just don't lineup with 2025.  To be open minded, I realize some athletes transfer for personal reasons, or because they feel they can't reach their potential in their current program and need a change.  Same logic as academics.

Yeah I highly doubt AJ or Facundo are happening.  I would have believed McNeil until they got Williams, but don’t see McNeil going 157.   Ironically it looks like the best 157 currently available is probably Chittum…now that would be funny if they went after him

Yeah, those are the main two and I don’t think Little makes sense either since they have Ludington coming and they would overlap even with a RS. 

Chittum would be interesting. Wasn’t the Chittum beef just with Anthony? So maybe the two sides could patch things up.

It’s a lot easier to let other programs identify/develop talent and just purchase them!!

If you can't recruit/coach your guys up you gotta buy the talent from others who have done that work. It's one way to be competitive.

Well then, there no coaches who can recruit and coach their guys up, because ALL coaches are using the portal ad nauseum. Coaches are recruiting college wrestlers as well as hs wrestlers. Every wrestler on every team is fair game. The name of the game now is make your best team possible, be it from your roster or other teams' rosters. If you have the money- go get anyone you like from any team you like. Pay your wrestlers well or someone else will. Accept that, or be left behind.

But how many teams aside from Iowa are starting 50% or more transfers the last few years?

Oklahoma State had 6 starters who transferred in last year. It was 7 most of the year until Carter Young was replaced.

They may poach like PSU, but they can't compete with them.  That's hard to do when your purchases are under-coached and under-perform.
