As much as everyone seems to hate his wrestling style...

I think this should go to Beau Bartlett.  Last year he was a micron away from being a NCAA champ but lost to Mendez and he still walked off the mat smiling and head held high.  Mendez beats him again this year OT (just barely) after Bartlett beat him twice in the regular season and Big 10s.  Bartlett fights back to finish 3rd.

Finishes his career never a champ, and wrestled up a weight for his team for two seasons.  Guy always has a smile on his face and never says anything negative.  Great attitude, great sportsman....someone to be admired.

He's boring and his shoes are stupid.

I'm also going to throw out the bald duo of Brock Hardy and Parker Keckeisen.  You're never going to hear anyone say anything bad about those two because they are great dudes who show respect to all their competition.  Mendez said as much in his post-match interview and his presser later on.

I was also quite impressed with Gable Steveson on the podium.

He does seem like a great kid. Did he decide to come back last season because of NIL? It caused a little bit of a logjam and I wasn't sure if his heart was into it this time around...

Did you notice he shaved off his ‘stache midway into the tournament?

Nice tribute JC

You don't deserve the porn-stache if you're in the consolations. Ferrari - take heed.

Only Wyatt gets to keep it.

Agree. It was cool to see Keckeisen applauding McEnelly after narrowly beating him, then applauding Starocci after losing to him.  I think he also might be the only top opponent that Starocci never disparages and is so quick to compliment.

Regarding Gable, I was a little worried when he didn't show up on the award stand at first.  They were halfway thru the awards when Gable comes jogging out just in time for his runner-up award and gave props to Wyatt. Respect.

Parker had a good interview with Flo after his match.

Great kid. Great perspective.

Still did "Faith Sunday" and "Mama Rahn Monday" on Instagram.  What I found interesting is that he's pondering a cut to 79kg.

You don't beat guys like Brock Hardy or Jesse Mendez 2x in a season if your heart isn't into it.

Yes Bartlett and Gable (plus many of the other guys that didn’t win) did have a good attitude

First I’ve seen this. Jimmy C’s assessment of this fine young man was right on the money.

It was interesting he talked about how much he prefers freestyle.  Is he more offensive in freestyle?

This is the first I’m learning of this. Now I’m looking forward to watching his freestyle results!

The only one I can think of off the top of my head was when he thought he beat Nick Lee but then they changed the result after the match was over (and people want to change college to freestyle…), I think it was 10-10 but don’t remember the specifics of the match
