Truzzcat posted that "Leo deluca is the only incoming freshman next year that could be impactful."

I am assuming he meant true frosh or maybe this was more specific to Iowa lineup or the top team race. Seems like there are others that could be top ten or higher if they go next year like at least: Marcus Blaze, Locket, Knox, Vega, Correa, Rath, and Duke.  Also redshirt and greyshirt frosh to consider.

Who are the likely high impact AA threat redshirt, greyshirts, and true frosh next year?  A lot of 5th years clear out so probably easier for first years competitors to compete at AA levels.

True Freshman:

(PSU) Blaze
(PSU) Duke
(OKST) Lockett
(OKST) Vega (I think he probably redshirts unless he is clearly better than Hughes)
(OKST) Robideau
(MISSOU)  Mendoza
(Cornell) Knox (I heard he may grey shirt not sure if there is any substance to that in my opinion he should go right away at 125)
(Cornell) Correa
(V-TECH) Seidel
(V-TECH) Burton
(Iowa) Deluca
(PITT) Vince bouzakis (feels like a guy that would go right away for them not sure he reaches the same level of success as the others)

Grey shirt:
(Cornell) Jaxon Joy
(ASU) Larkin

RS/MS
(Iowa) Ferrari
(PSU) Ryder
(PSU) Mirasola
(PSU) Mirasola (Connor not sure how he gets in the lineup)
(OKST) Merill
(Nebraska) Lauridsen (beat smith in the wrestle off)
(Missou) Sinclair
(ASU) Older Larkin

None freshman coming off RS or MS:
(Lehigh) Crookham
(Lehigh) Stanich
(Lehigh) Brignola
(Lehigh) Taylor
(PSU) Nagao
(Michigan) Ghadali
(ISU) Bastida

Lehigh with some firepower next year!  Somebody with knowledge post their expected lineup - top 10 threat?

That's quite a job you did there!

Wrt Cornell and Knox:  Cornell apparently have Greg D (one year of eligibility), Brett Ungar (one year of eligibility), and Tyler Ferrara (three years left) all coming back next year, so two of them would have to sit if Knox came in as a true freshman (and presumably was the best of the bunch).

Cornell and Correa:  they have Mikey D (197) and Ashton D (285) returning, plus Elijah Diakomihalis (HS 190) and Rocco Dellagatta (HS 285) both of whom likely greyshirt.  Great if Correa could go 197.

I am really excited for Eli the way he wrestles for a big guy is really fun. I forgot about cericho for cornell as well coming off grey shirt. He did not have a grey shirt that makes me think he is an AA threat like Joy or Ruiz thinking recently but I think he could be good.

I would add RS Freshmen Brock Mantanona (Michigan) and RS Freshmen Cam Catrabone (Michigan) who knocked of Joy (Cornell) this year.

He legitimately decomitted from Michigan because they recruited the #1 HWT as well.

He intends to go HWT.

Still trying to figure out how Michigan gets Swiderski and Garvin and both Mantanonas in the lineup without sitting Catrabone and Gilcher.

I personally think that Perentin (3x NJ state champion at Delbarton) is, right now, better than Cerchio.

Eli ("big little D") is coming off shoulder surgery that had him sit out the year, so I'd be surprised to see him in the Cornell lineup.

It's really frustrating to have no f***ing clue as to who will come in and who will grey shirt.  Given the recent history of true freshmen at Cornell, you have to be really special (Dake/Yianni/Shapiro, and *not* Vito!) to jump right in.  Only Knox might fit that bill.  Time will tell, of course.

Is Swiderski to Michigan a real thing?

I have heard Michigan and Iowa.

Also of note, ad likely irrelevant: His brother is at Central Michigan.

I think Gilchers days of starting are probably over, wouldn’t be shocked if he ends up heading elsewhere.

re: Cornell, Joy and Cerchio are coming off of greyshirt. Joy probably has to beat out Cornella at 141 (I hope Cornella is back, anyway) and/or Fernandez at 149. If he doesn't/can't get into the starting lineup he's probably not an impact freshman. Cerchio almost certainly slots in for Ramirez at 165.

I'd be pretty surprised if Knox, Perentin, Elijah D. the Cortezes, DeJesus, Correa and Dellagatta didn't all greyshirt this year. The big hole in the lineup is 184 and I don't see anyone on that list (or even coming off of greyshirt) who fits the bill.

Not one mention of Ben Davino is really disrespectful.  Arguably the the top guy on this list IMHO

It's tough to trust Ohio State's development. for every Mendez there seems to be 3 paddy's now

some of the smaller schools provide consistent opportunities for true freshman.  Sometimes they do a lot better than people expect.

Take Dillon Bechtold from Bucknell this season.  True freshman at a lower profile school and made the round of 16 at 197 - an extremely competitive weight this year.  I'm sure we will have some surprise candidates next year as well.

Saw someone else listing Ziola as a Hwt. Is that true?
