I like Ramos, but think he has a really rough half of the bracket just to make the finals

The toughest two opponents are on the other side of the bracket (LL and Figs).

I'm a sentimental softy and a homer to boot... Sheldon Seymour for this B&W diehard!

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Sheldon is a longshot, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

But I was talking about making the finals. Just to get to one of those two guys on the other side, Ramos would have to go through some possible combo of Renteria, Steevo, Sprat, Strick, Flynn, Ventresca... that's pretty rough.

I would take that over having to deal with either LL or Figs on my side of the bracket though.

I printed out each weight class and filled them out by hand instinctively without thinking too hard about it.  In 125, I had Ramos winning.

Yeah, I get that. I'm pulling for Ramos (Spratley too) but think it might be a bit of a steep climb to the finals.

This is a little off topic but can someone tell me how on earth Figs lost?  The kid was like 10-14.  I never once heard the name in my life.  The kid lost like 3 straight after that and Figs comes back for third.  What the heck?

I don't think figs was trying very hard at first, the random kid snuck in a late takedown at the end of the second period.  Figs was unable to retake the lead. Which is concerning as it appears he doesn't have a go to shot and can't generate offense if he has to.

Boiler UP!  It's been soo long since Purdue had a champ. Ramos will get it done!

100% people are acting like the match with LL wasn’t a little bit flukie.

he lost but the rematch will be much different!

How was it "flukie"?

Ramos didn't give up a takedown all year and gave up 3 that day. He seemed to be a little off. The match was really decided by one big exchange.

A fluke? That sounds like Luke got lucky, but as you note he actually won every exchange.

Maybe fluke was the wrong word, but if Ramos doesn’t roll to his back it’s a different match!

that’s all I meant!
