They talked about this on FRL yesterday. How has Tyler Brennan wrestled 5 post seasons for Little Rock? Of course we have seen many wrestle 5 post seasons but that is because those athlete for the free COVID year in 2021. Brennan did NOT use the free COVID year and just wrestled in his fifth PAC-12 tournament (2020, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025).

2020 - Wrestled at PAC 12's exhausting Year 1 of eligibility

2021 - this is a free year and he didn't wrestle

2022 - Wrestled at PAC 12's exhausting Year 2 of eligibility

2023 - Wrestled at PAC 12's exhausting Year 3 of eligibility

2024 - Wrestled at PAC 12's exhausting Year 4 of eligibility

2025 - Should have no remaining eligibility left, but here we are. I don't get it.

The real MVP is the compliance officer at Little Rock. Michigan's Dept of International Eligibility is going to throw such a huge bag to get them into Ann Arbor asap

I thought for sure there was a mistake or two Tyler Brennan or something but even the Little Rock press release acknowledges he is using a 5th year despite not wrestling in 2021.     Is Little Rock misapplying the covid rule?  Did you need to wrestle in 2021 to get a 5th year or did everyone just get 5 years??

Makes you wonder if they went to the NCAA and said, "hey, he wasn't able to use the free year when it was free, can he use it now?" The current state of the NCAA is they are likely to shrug and say sure. Who needs another attorney's bill?

NCAA: "Winter sport student-athletes who compete during 2020-21 in Division I will receive both an additional season of competition and an additional year in which to complete it, the Division I Council decided.

An extra year of eligibility went to all: 2019-2020 spring athletes, 2020-2021 fall athletes, and 2020-2021 winter athletes.

Should he vacate his conf. championship and give it to 2nd place finisher (Murphy Menke) instead?  What does that do to the PAC 4 race?

I'd bet it's something along the lines of "I would've used it, but _____ happened and I couldn't. I should get a 5th year too just like everyone else."

Daton Fix just saw this thread and is lacing up his boots

Ran into him at the store the other day. He was buying this stuff and said "I got a surprise in a few weeks." Now we know what he was talking about!
