Boy I’m going to complicate this even more because I too think kids get in fights and police can be left out of it (as a general rule). But I also think he’s certainly at a higher risk of being an offender of either a driving or physical related offense in his future because it’s seemingly been normalized in his life. Then again he could look at his dad and say my dads a drunk anger riddled little man and I gotta stick up for him but not following the same path…

Knox or AJ?

Disrespectful fans lol …. You don’t need to enter the stands to confront them.   There is that role model behavior again.

He shouldn't have confronted them. Obviously. Were they not disrespectful? He just started a whole thing over nothing? Is that what you're going with? Apparently he got shoved down the stands as he approached them.

I didn't say he was a role model. He's raised a disciplined and dedicated kid. But again, his dad has issues. I never defended his character. I am only defending Anthony. I think it's dumb that people dump on him over this situation.

Yes.  110%.   No need to confront anyone over people being disrespectful.   With that said.  Does he get shoved if he doesn’t “confront” them?   What lesson is going in the stand to confront idiots show your kid?

No, he doesn't get shoved if he didn't "confront idiots." Should that person have shoved him? Would you hit someone that shoved you? Would you hit someone who shoved your dad down the stairs and hit him?

Part of me thinks the family knew it would end like this, but actually getting to wrestle the matches erases any  "what could've been" as far as Anthony being a 4xer.  Like yeah, take the bracket back, but the only people who will consider him a 3xer are NJSIAA historians.

I am not a NJSIAA historian. To me Knox is a 3xer.  A 3xer that was good enough to be a 4xer, but off the mat issues prevented it.  He should not have been allowed to wrestle.

This is like how Tom Brands wasn't allowed to wrestle in the post season his senior year of high school or how Garrett Scott wasn't allowed to wrestle and attempt to win a 4th state title in PA.  Both good enough to win but off the mat issues prevented it.  The court ordered Knox be allowed to wrestle in this case and it appears they should not have since Knox did not ultimately prevail.

Well Brands didn't get the decision that Knox did.  He sued and wasn't granted the temporary restraining order he wanted.  Knox got a TRO, but as someone pointed out one of the criteria for granting a TRO is the likelihood that the party will prevail.  Clearly Knox did not prevail so perhaps the court was wrong to grant the TRO.  Or perhaps the court thought that irreparable harm would happen to Knox if he wasn't allowed to wrestle and somehow prevailed later, but if they grant the order then the NJSIAA could simply strip him of the title/any placement/points should be not prevail and remedy the situation.

Either way Brands, Knox, and Scott were all good enough to win state titles as seniors but ultimately did not because of off the mat issues.

Avoid the stands and this doesn’t happen.   Your kid is trying to be a 4xer.  Man up.  Swallow your jersey shore pride.  Show your son how to act like a real man.   And walk away.  He’s a 4xer and not a convict if you act with class.

That decision is temporary not final.  TRO=Temporary Restraining Order. Final decision has been rendered and he is ineligible.  No state title just like Brands, Scott, etc.

I can say I won an olympic title… but I didn’t.   Rutgers can say Knox won 4 state titles but he didn’t.   Do those that got dq for steroids after the fact get to keep their title.  No they don’t

Shouldn't Rutgers be held to a higher standard than you or I regarding accurate facts and telling the truth?

Why.  It’s marketing at this point.   They are not the official body so they can’t be told to take it down.  Rosters on college websites are littered with nonsense

I can put I was Oly champ on my website or doesn’t make it so

The initials of the current president of Rutgers University are W. F. T. (or WFT).

The 22nd president of the university is William F. Tate IV, who officially assumed office on July 1, 2025

I admittedly don’t know the specifics of how this all went down but this isn’t his kids fight to have regardless. If it’s that bad take that to the parking lot, handle it and come back in. Not a big deal.

One thing I pieced together from someone sitting near the incident and from what Sr himself said (and I take him at his word here). The stands were pretty quiet most of the night. SJV won 11 of the first 12 finals (I think 113 was the exception). The SJV 220 was a heavy favorite but the other kid was able to throw him twice (7 each?) the second time end of match and the place exploded. At some point 2 of the SJV light/middle weights went up into the stands. Sr was a far corner from this one and saw that those kids were there (they were kids that trained with him) and went over. In my opinion, if he would have gone over and told the two of them to go back wherever the rest of SJV was and left, this would have been a non-issue. It sounds like he got into a jawing match with some of the spectators (who it does sound like were being jerks) and then things got out of control.
