Also, I admit I heard very little of Stiles before the postseason. Can any Beavers fans shed insight on him making 149 and what any “knocks” on him are? Not sure how big of a recruit he was? Cc: Brain @Husker_Du

He went to Nebraska out of HS. Was in the 40s on the Big Board. Willie had him as 165.   He wrestled 157 his redshirt year but couldn't beat out Taylor or Lovett and then transferred to OSU and started the year at 157 before cutting down to 149 and becoming an AA.

It didn't sound like he was a 149 long term but with Chittum, Cannon and now Stiles at 149-165, its not a bad problem to have.   I forgot Chittum greyshirted at Iowa and could still take a redshirt

After the Stanford dual, Ethan said that 149 was a 1 year deal.  However, if you are offered a bag of money to stay at 149, you may make that sacrifice and stay down. The reason he went down was because we had two good 157 in CJ Hamblin and Stiles and we were struggling at 149 with injuries. Stiles was actually losing to Hamblin in the Orange/Black wrestle-off and had to come back and get the win in OT. So everyone decided with the team lineup and the landscape of 149, that Stiles should go down. 149 was very tough cut for him to make. His first time down he was up on Gabe Willochell by 6 or 7 points and gassed hard and lost. After that he seemed to manage it ok.

another possibility is Bouzkais at 125. i'm told he's going to test those waters.

Wow might be a tough cut, didn’t he wrestle 132 in HS?

I'd be surprised.  Can you name a few top programs at Ohio St off the top of your head?

Illinois is ranked 33rd nationally (9th for publics).  Ohio State 41st (15th for publics).

Illinois has a selectivity rate of 44%, Ohio State 51%.

Illinois average SAT 1410.  Ohio State 1400.

Illinois average ACT 32.  Ohio State 31.

Illinois obviously is well known for their engineering and science programs, which are all highly ranked.  Ohio State doesn't necessarily have that one area it's most known for, but is well ranked across a wide variety of degree programs--top 20 in engineering, business, social sciences, nursing, chemistry, public affairs, etc.  You can pick virtually any area of study and  you won't have to scroll too far down the list before you find OSU.

I say this not to say that Ohio State is better than Illinois, nor the opposite.  Just that your notion that Ohio State is an easy school to get into for the average student is outdated.

Ohio State has some professional athletes on campus playing football.  It is what it is.  Most of those guys aren't really students.

Off the top of my head Illinois is generally considered #1 in Civil Eng, they have other top 5/10 Eng depts, Computer Sci is 1 or 2ish, Ag Eng top 2, Finance and Accounting are top level programs and they have one of the best Library Sci programs, one of the best Research Parks around giving a lot of opportunities for both undergrads & grad students.  I don't think Ohio St would be considered a "safety" school for top students but they, Iowa, Indiana etc prob are for mid level students.

Sure Ohio St has the "The" and Dr. Phillips but ...

I already gave you the facts, so I'm not really sure what else to tell you.  The two schools have similar admissions standards, with Illinois ranked a couple rungs above OSU.

This whole "mid-level" and "safety school" talk is just baseless conjecture on your part.  Iowa, Indiana, and Ohio State are not all in the same boat.

Some rumblings that Keckeisen could follow Roper to the RTC in Stillwater.  No clue if there is any truth to it.  But seen it mentioned across several other team boards.

Allison Schwab posted on Instagram that PK is sticking around Cedar Falls, at least for now, when someone speculated that he might join Ben Askren's AWA RTC.

She seems a lot more trustworthy than anonymous internet types like myself.  I'll take her word for it.
