What a sad situation and I hate this for Sammy.  Those punks that shot him, took away so much from this great young man.  Good luck with your future and I hope it still involves the sport of wrestling.

The fact that he even came back after that is incredible. Pennsylvania wrestling fans and elsewhere are proud of Sammy Sasso.

What an incredible story. What courage and strength it took to overcome such a terrible injury from a gunshot. I hope Ohio State comes up with a Sammy Sosso Most Courageous Award. To be given out each year to a deserving wrestler.

The fact that he came back and got wins is amazing.  It's cliche to say "truly inspirational", but it really really is that he was able to accomplish that.

Best of luck to him.  Kinda crazy that a guy that came back from getting shot is passing the torch to a guy that came back from having cancer

I am curious, what the heck did happen shooting wise?  Was there ever a full accounting for what happened?  Any good thorough write up?

So, my vote would be for Cannon (pretty sure that's his name) if they start the Sammy Sosa Most Courageous Award this year.
