Fortunately Elon Musk, the owner of Starlink, and many of the new employees at the FAA, also from Starlink, know a great company to take over this huge contract.  You'll never guess who it is.

What?! No way! We were told this wouldn't happen. He's just doing this because he wants a better America.

Inb4 mspart / scouts honor say "fake libtard news", "show me the evidence", or deflect to some Hunter Biden bs.

Unless they can give a good reason why Starlink is a better option that is 100% not ethical in my opinion.

Elon saying it is good enough for about half the country and 80% of this board unfortunately.

Is it conceivable that this action could be taken without DOGE and without Musk's association with Trump?

If yes, not conflict.

If no, yes conflict.

The real question is do you want the best support for the FAA?   If so and Starlink shows better support than Verizon can provide, wouldn't we want Starlink?   I'm not saying Starklink, or any other company, is better, but if it demonstrably is, wouldn't it be prudent to move that direction or in the direction of a better company than Verizon?

If starlink can do it better, why shouldn't they?  If they can demonstrate that they are better, pure competition.

How can they prove it?  What objective measurement can they provide?

I find this intriguing, you can’t think of one aspect that might make Starlink preferable to Verizon?

Well Verizon is not working!  I know this because Elon says so

Care to stop dancing around whatever you're trying to say and just say it?

That is not an answer to the question.   If they can prove they are better, why should they not get the contract?

That is the question.   Your inability to figure out that one company can show they are better than another company doesn't  matter in the least.   I have to say in this case, i have no idea how they would do it but I'm sure those two companies and any other interested in the contract do know how to differentiate themselves.

That's the point, dude.  The way you get a contract is you sell that you have best offer to the person giving the contract, which is automatically subject to corruption and conflicts when one of the people trying to get the contract WORKS IN THE ORGANIZATION GIVING THE CONTRACT.  There is no purely objective way to do it, that's now contracts are obtained.

In many cases, tests are performed before contracts are obtained.

Except you literally, right now, have Elon himself saying that the FAA is on the verge of canceling the Verizon contract and giving it to Starlink.  Not opening up a bidding.  Giving it to Starlink.

And both systems have been well tested.

After reading the article, I think this is much ado about nothing.  My guess is that Verizzon will retain the contract as it has already been given to them.   Musk may get access to remote places.
