Sakamoto has been coached well in folk for doing it for only one year.  Pretty incredible actually

That early ride sucked the life out of him.  Welcome to the harder style of wrestling Mr. Sakamoto

no merkle, leg was across the body not between legs

His leg was in the middle during that second sequence to end the period, I thought?  But somebody said there's no Merkle rules and I have no idea.

I believe they were put into place the year right after O'Connor vs Sasso, but this is based on zero research and only memory

So what was the thought to not have Witcraft go? Fun to see Sakamoto but not sure I follow the reasoning

Maybe it was more about what it meant for Sakamoto combined with a confidence in the rest of their roster to pick up the slack if need be.

I'm assuming they thought he had a chance in the takedown battle.  Plan didn't work when he had to wrestle on the mat

Ayala beat him in every position. Great athlete but obviously not accustomed to high level folk. I bet he would still beat most of the field at ncaa.

2d - J down.  Out quick.
J in now with 40 sec to go.  Gathers far ankle.  7-0.
someone with the loud F bomb.

3rd period - Rhodes down.  RT climbing.  Over 1 min now.  Lift returns.  RT basically locked now.  Yup.

Stalling on Jamison.  Fair.  Completely parallel, doing nothing.  Restart.

8-0 with RT, Rhodes not looking to escape.  At least not well.  Done.
