Paniro Johnson gives up 4 stalling points in the third to send the match to OT against Realbuto.. gets taken down for the loss.

The 2 point stall call was pretty questionable, he was defending back to back shots and got hit with 3 seconds left..

Hmmm... a little hometown cookin'? 😏

It did provide some high drama in the house... not to mention some wild wrestling. Paniro did look like he was running on empty at the end when Realbuto got the TD.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Oh, he was gassed. I don't really have a problem with the call. Teemer and Paniro wrestle basically the same style and should be more heavily punished for consistently ceding ground and stepping back on their own volition. The whole "they want to wrestle from space" isn't an excuse. Plenty of guys like to wrestle from space but don't wrestle like them.

In the end, imho, Colin Realbuto did what he had to do and achieved the results that he was looking for (coming from behind a 7-2 deficit w/a tough wrestler, like Paniro Johnson, is something to behold.)

Huge win for Chittum, I think he matches up terribly with Meyer but if he can avoid him at nationals, I think he can win the entire thing.

As a UNI fan, I have this sinking feeling that we're going to end up with only 1 AA again. Would hate to receive all this attention this season and then not perform at the NCAA tournament, but I'm not confident Downey and Happel can put it together, and other guys like Farber, Simma, and Runyon haven't looked sharp for a while.

To be fair, the attention is mostly for the work they've done as dual team and UNI is a damn good dual team.

I think UNI gets more than one AA, but I think the o/u is probably somewhere around 2.5.

Is Anderson or Golhoffer the the post season starter at 125?

I bet at least 2 make AA. Keck is a lock, but UNI has 3 or 4 guys right on that R12/AA edge. I think Happel will make low AA (7th/8th), and Realbuto has a real shot to AA as well.

Anything can happen at NCAAs.

I think you get  at least two AAs.  UNI is a top dual team this year and is a good example of why a dual team championship would be great for the sport.

But as you noted, they probably are not going to place as high at NCAAs. Hopefully the local fan base isn't expecting a top 4 tournament finish despite them possibly being a top 4 dual team.

2 point stall call was basically a fleeing the mat call, which was justified IMO.  It wasn't like he sprawled and went out of bounds, he was literally running away.    If that happens in the first period, no one thinks twice about it.

I think between Happel, Realbuto, Downey and Voelker they get at least one AA. I would not be surprised to see any of those guys AA.

Wasn’t Schwab mad about Dresser throwing a lung brick for Paniro?
