Here is some quotes from a daily caller article.   Not to kind on Trump for this Gaza deal.

https://dailycaller.com/2025/02/05/donald-trump-gaza-united-states-take-over-israel-middle-east/

President Donald Trump is flirting with a poison pill that would ruin his America First, MAGA agenda.

Tuesday evening, Trump proposed the U.S. occupy Gaza in his joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu...

The day of his inauguration, Trump the businessman described Gaza as if it were a prime slice of real estate ripe for development.

“You know, Gaza’s interesting, it’s a phenomenal location, on the sea, the best weather. Everything’s good. Some beautiful things could be done with it,” Trump said, also telling a reporter who asked if he and the United States would help with its rebuilding.

“I might,” Trump said.

Well, Trump says a lot of things that never come to fruition. It’s possible, even likely, that he is saying something absurd as a litmus test to shake things up and freak out the media before he pursues a more pragmatic strategy. Maybe he thinks his bold proposal can be used as a bargaining chip somewhere down the line.

That being said, the very idea of illegally claiming ownership of Gaza is as farcical as it is insidious — and it deserves to be shot down and ridiculed.

The 2 million Palestinians living in Gaza do not want to leave, and other countries in the Middle East do not want to take them in. How would the U.S. go about removing and housing 2 million Palestinians? It’s logistically impossible without sending in masses and masses of U.S. troops, spending trillions of dollars, and coordinating with regional powers who would not want to play ball, to say nothing of how evil it is. Let’s liquidate Gaza, and get thousands of Americans killed in the process, so Jared Kushner can build a fancy beachfront resort. Fantastic idea, and I’m sure poor people in rural Kentucky will be thrilled to hear they have the opportunity to spend spring break at the five-star Kushner Hotel, where they will be catered to by a Palestinian olive farmer whose entire family was obliterated by an Israeli drone strike.

Trump is flirting with a bona fide poison pill, a foreign policy disaster, à la George W. Bush, that would do irreparable damage to his agenda. Bush 3.0. The Bush Junta. It’s Iraq-War level bad. Afghanistan-level bad. A reprehensible boondoggle. A complete waste of blood and treasure. Trillions more in debt. Countless innocent lives were lost, American and Palestinian. You can picture the neocons still swimming around the D.C. swamp, silently breaking the surface, poking their lizard eyes out and licking their chops. If only we could get another shot at nation-building. It will work this time, so long as we send in enough troops and drop enough bombs, we can turn the desert into shiny, beautiful glass.

And in order to put America First, Trump must first resist the temptation of intervention, lest he risk another two decades of death and debt.

Just thought it interesting a Daily Caller writer agrees with some of RVs positions.  I'm not sure if DC puts in oppo stuff, but this would seem like one for sure.   Like I said, I have no real opinion on this except I'm not sure how the US confiscates the territory.

My plan would be to end all involvement in middle east including funding and weapons for Israel. Nothing good has or will come out of our continued imperialism and meddling in middle east. And the idiots out there see this and still wonder why they hate us so much...

leve the israelis to get slaughtered. nice.

A lot of myopic idiots don't consider that this is much bigger than Gaza. Its about the entire middle east and this plan will triple the hatred toward us in that part of the world. 9/11 was nothing compared to what youll see if diaper Donald does this.

a lot of mypoic idiots would just lay down for islamic fundamentalists.

in addition to being this board's chief dummy, you're also its biggest sissy

Sissy? Actually, I can empathize w the people over there. If I were one of them and I had several family and friends brutally murdered by Israelis using u.s. aid, I'd be 1st in line to take out retribution, and by any means necessary if I had nothing to lose. Against the u.s. included. There are plenty of other people over there that are dangerous in that way so I realize it's best to not waste our money and precious lives over there.

I already served my time in the military,3 yrs active and 3 reserve. I guess you're a tough chicken hawk guy, so tough being willing to put OTHER people's lives on the line while you were never willing to serve yourself

One of the signs of age related decline is the lose of filter. Trump says whatever pops into his head without the ability to control the idea long enough to think it through. Then he and his staff spend their time either walking it back if it is too ludicrous (move Palestinians to some fictional "good, fresh, beautiful piece of land"), or doubling down if it plays to their base and requires no action in the real world ("they are eating cats and dogs in Ohio").

Add on top that Trump just listens to the last person in the room, like an old man in decline, and you get a press conference with Netanyahu at his side struggling to contain his glee over how easy it has become to manipulate and use Trump.

I think a better solution is this. Though it'll never happen because it makes too much sense. The fighting between the Israelis and Palestinians won't stop because they're just like two neighbors that no matter what, will just never get along. Somebody is always going to be mad about some real or imagined slight. So the solution is a little complex, but it's workable.

The Palestinians give up any and all claims to Gaza and the West Bank.

Israel turns Jerusalem over to the UN.

Egypt cedes a few hundred square km or so of land along the border with Sudan on the Red Sea to become the new Palestinian state.

Israel pays the cost to build basic infrastructure, roads, tract housing, etc. and the cost to transport the Palestinians to this new territory.

The Palestinians sign an agreement stating that their government will forever not attack Israel or Israeli interests ever.

Israel gets: Undisputed control over Gaza and the West Bank, plus peace of mind that their neighbors won't do anything.

Palestinians get: Their own, undisputed, free and clear new territory with basic infrastructure that is far away from Israel.

Egypt gets: Rid of the problems Gaza presents, and the Palestinians are far away from anything in Egypt that could cause them problems.

Does anybody get what they want 100%? No. But everyone gets something and it is enough to make everyone at least a little bit happy and minimizes the chances of an Israeli/Palestinian conflict breaking out due to proximity.

Also, did anybody catch the potential slip when Trump said there were 1.7 or 1.8 million Palestinians to relocate? The population of Gaza pre-war was 2+ million. Did he just let the (open)secret slip that the real death toll is in the hundreds of thousands?

No one knows the actual number.  It's reported by the Palestinian health ministry which Hamas controls.  An independent study was done and the estimated number is around 60k

How about we give them part of the United States? Since the UN is responsible for displacing them in the first place, and we support Israel?. What comes around should go around? As an alternative we could move the Jewish homeland somewhere here and kick the Christians out.

You're arguing and debating like a high schooler.  Up your game.  Here's my high schooler response.  "Why don't you just like move out.  You're not Native American.  You should go back to like where your ancestors are from in Europe.  Don't come at me if you can't stand the heat."

Thats a deflection and different subject. Nice try.

I'm not an Israel supporter. The idiots that "support" Israel should give up their own land for the jews or the Muslims that they displace. It's fair.

That's like so on point. It's like the the supporters of the USA should give up their land to the Native Americans.  So fetch

Keep deflecting. We could actually do better for Native Americans too. That would be a completely different thread. Besides, I'm not talking about giving over the whole USA. Just the amount of land that was illegally handed over to Israel. It's actually much less than Indian reservations total acreage.

We should start with your town and other localities filled with wingers that support Israel's "right" to a homeland.

Yes, I will continue to deflect your immature style of debate, name calling, and unrealistic fantasies.  If you ever mature and want to be an adult would love to converse with you.  There is a lot I've seen you post that I agree with.  Stuff I don't.  But it's always packaged like a raging high schooler with no emotional control.

Your morals include saying you would join Hamas if you could. You might want to self reflect a little.

No. Only if they killed my family and friends. There would be retribution.

Tell me more about these "more beautiful communities, with new and modern homes, in the region."

And tell me how you plan to relocate people who do not want to be relocated.

I’m as curious to know how they plan to live there in its current state.

That is kind of the point. Trump has not asked them what their plans are. Instead he has made up a fictional beautiful community with new modern homes, that rather inconveniently do not exist. Neither the land nor the homes.

I thought he said they should move to Egypt and Jordan while Gaza was rebuilt.  The place is hardly livable now and will remain that way for a long time.
