if you don't think Carter Starocci's mentality is a great asset and superior to most of his contemporaries you don't know ball.

I didn't argue that Mr. Hollywood didn't have a savage mental game. I was arguing that the mindset of "I'll get an escape and I won't get taken down so I don't really need to push for a takedown" was underwhelming. It was a lame match for a 4xer and I thought it was weird to compliment Mr. Public Exposure's match tactics.

Kyle Dake did an interview once where he basically said he went into every match thinking he is already up 2-0 because he knew he would get an escape and he would earn a riding time point.

Nobody gonna remember this match in a year (maybe two.) in 25-26 Angelo may be the next coming of Spencer Lee or he may implode in Hawkeye-ville, only time will tell. HOWEVER, Carter can become a 5X champ (albeit at nearly 25) and if he do, people will recall that, even if he's a schmuck on social media. How many of you recall Cael's last collegiate match in '02? [without googling it]

Yeah, I agree here. I think he can be real obnoxious...but I also think he's pretty undeniable.

I think he's been a little more aggressive than people are suggesting. He's got a couple MDs this year and then all TF/Pins. One match he didn't bonus a guy was the match we're talking about.

I think Ferrari went out there, wanted to keep the match close. It's hard to score on a guy who just wants to keep it close--NOT saying he shouldn't have gone after him more, but are we going off his past a bit more than his actual results this year?

Also...I think just about every diehard Wrestling fan should remember Cael's last match. It was 159. 4th Title. Iconic. I can't tell you the score, but I remember those Goggles Trenge wore...right?

Yet we’re still talking about the match.   Weird.   Who is Paul Jenn… I can’t remember.

Pretty famously the guy who beat Cael as a RS and then tragically passed away in what I thought was a car accident at a very young age.

I'm not sure what your point is or if you're arguing here... I responded I DID remember Cael's last match and you came back with "YET we're still talking about the match." Right...I kinda said that, no?

You literally quoted someone on the match where cstall didn’t score an offensive point against Angelo Ferrari …..    and yet we’re still talking about that match and I predict the interwebs will not forget the fact that he could not dominate nor score an offensive point against a true freshmen…. While going for #5.

I wonder why he couldn't score any points against that?

Cause he didn’t try.  Mount Rushmore dominant athletes figure out a way.    Tis why he doesn’t belong on the Mount Rushmore of wrestling.

is this the same team / mindset that taught rby to hide his arms behind his back …. But that’s ok right?

Because Starocci is backing up? What did I win?  🙂

I don't think he belongs in the top four all-time, but to call him cstall is just plain dumb.

83% of the posters on here call him cstall.  Have been for years.  He’s boring af.  And statistically he is the least dominant 4x’er of all time.   He basically patented the do nothing stall ride on top.    Maybe we should call him king parallel ?  Or king parallel ride?   I think cstall has a better ring though.   Don’t you?

Reality is reality. Take the blue glasses off you’ll see he is boring most of the time.   Maybe if he wasn’t an arrogant braggart people would hate him less.  Maybe think of that?

Actually I think Stieber and Dake are statistically less dominant 4 timers in terms of bonus percentage.

If you hadn't watched the video it'd be a bit hard to tell what is going on.  Angelo is down in the stardard Ferrari attack position from which they use fast twitch muscles for a low launch into a single leg snatch.  So did Starocci just back up to stay out of reach hence why he is standing almost straight up, clearly he is not coming forward he is on his heels.

Now those of us who saw the match wouldn't assume that's the case.  However as a fair minded wrestling fan I'm sure you can appreciate the interpretation based off only this still photo. 🙂

Just say you hate him for being an arrogant braggart and quit pretending he was the problem in the match with Ferrari. Try being honest with yourself.

It’s both bro.   He couldn’t major brands either.  I actually put a list together of a lot of his boring matches in another thread.  sample that.

gotta pre keep him off the Mount Rushmore.  A free 5th because of Covid shouldn’t get him ahead of any of the other 4 timers.  And the psu faithful will be doing that like crazy people if he wins his 5th just because it’s 5 instead of 4

I think Ferrari went out there, wanted to keep the match close. It's hard to score on a guy who just wants to keep it close--NOT saying he shouldn't have gone after him more, but are we going off his past a bit more than his actual results this year?

Damian Hahn vs Cael Sanderson.

THAT was your point? LOL...that's so ridiculous.

So because I know who Paul Jenn is(someone who BEAT Sanderson)...that means we'll remember a CLOSE win in a year in which he's otherwise dominated and had a 100% bonus%?

And your response to me was because I "LITERALLY" quoted a guy(I'd never figuratively quote a guy) who said who remembers Cael Sanderson's 159th and final win in a 4 year undefeated career?

Jesus....do you realize the amount of respect you're giving Starocci? You apparently don't get it, but you're LITERALLY equating Cael Sanderson's win over Jon Trenge to become a 4X undefeated National Champion with Carter Starocci wrestling Iowa and...only winning by 2 points. The fact that you're even citing that is more telling than you seem to get.

That's a great point. Now THAT match I had forgotten about. And that's when Cael had the unbeaten streak going. The "Hahn almost beat Cael," and then later on you saw it and realized...he really didn't. But yeah, that 3-2 win wouldn't have otherwise dawned on me.

at least you're admitting it's hate and not reality.

you're arguing that a potential 5xer isn't good enough for your aesthetic predisposition.
