I think feldman is generally overrated. Like they know he's not top tier, but they want to pretend he's alone in another tier above everyone else, when in reality there are a handful of guys with a definite shot at beating him.

Kennedy is gonna beat Kharchla, I thought Turley was gonna take him out for a second.

Kharchla was in control the whole match lol

No, there was a late match scramble that kharchla retreated out of where I thought turley was gonna take it, which is why i said "for a second".

And sense we're pretending to laugh at nothing LOL

Ohio State should roll out Davino, bump up Mendez to take out parco.

Davino at 141 or 133 and bump Bouzakis to 141?

The problem with this is that I'm not sure Mendez would take out Parco. I say this as a Mendez Stan. He's my favorite current NCAA wrestler to watch. He's a bulldog. He has sought out competition and has some really impressive results.

When I read this, I had flashbacks to Rivera bumping up to wrestle Micic and getting absolutely worked over. On a relative scale, I think Mendez is better than Rivera, and Parco isn't quite as good a Micic, but he is a four-time AA and a title contender at 149. So while I don't think Mendez would be beaten like Rivera was, it's a tall task to ask him to bump up and beat a guy like Parco for a dual they aren't winning as a team anyway.

Not to mention that moving up in weight increases the potential of a guy getting injured as well. It happened to me one time, I moved up and wrestled a kid at 178. I was kicking the crap out of him, 12-5 with riding time locked and only 15 seconds in the match. Rolled out of bounds with him, bam, dislocated elbow and out the rest of the year 😞 Too bad, I'd have definitely made state.

1) Carver

2) Feldman may be dealing with a lingering injury

3) If people think part of Kueter’s problem is giving up too much weight, he won’t be giving up as much vs Feldman

Looks like wrestlestat is picking him too

How much does Kueter weigh? How much does Feldman weigh?

You had RT in HS...💪

Yes we had riding time in High school. If my memory is correct you could accumulate 2 points for riding 2 minutes. The good old days. I'm not sure when they changed it.

Um what? Did you see what he did last year after taking his RSFr year off to recover from back surgery? When you say overrated do you mean he's projected to be national champ? No one thinks that. He's definitely in the 4-6 range this year behind Gable, Kerk, and Hendrickson and will be a favorite to win in 2026 and 2027.

So please define what you mean when you say "Feldman is overrated"

Spot on. Coming off the injury and adjusting to larger heavyweights he has done a good job. Wish he could pack on 10 or 15 more pounds. He will be favored to win the next 2 years. Any idea how much Feldman weighs?

sorry i didn't realize he was the only HWY to get hurt, not be full sized, and that those things had anything to do with the conversation.

yeah but I think Schultz and Trumble are at least toss ups, plus the campbell kids already beat him but he's now done....I hear his name a lot for a guy whose a bad seed away from not placing and not getting upset either.

Campbell kid is out for the year. So is Bastida.

You had up to 2 pts RT in HS? It was only 1 point when I was in HS. I was a monster on top, I'd have gotten 2 pts nearly every match from RT 😄

125: McCrone dec Cruz 3-0

133: Ayala dec Bouzakis 3-3

141: Mendez TF Block 8-3

149: Parco dec D'Emilio 8-6

157: Sasso dec Estrada 11-6

OR

157: Teemer dec. Sasso 8-9

165: Caliendo MD Gallagher 11-10 OR 8-13

174: Kennedy dec Kharchla  11-13 or 8-16

184: Arnold dec Rogotzke 11-16 or 8-19

197: Buchanon MD Shumate 11-19 or 8-22

285: Feldman dec Kueter 14-19 or 11-22 IA

Video person: Iowa FALL OSU (kid didn't even record 1 state champ in HS and now is in over his head in the B1G)

157 and 174 are the toss ups that I picked IA in those but OSU could win and then it would come down to bonus points (each team would win 5)

I don't see either of those as tossups. Sammy Sasso isn't a legit 157 pounder and certainly never even looked passably good at 165, and I'd be shocked if Kharchla beats Kennedy. Kharchla exists, as a wrestler, to disappoint people. That's probably a dickish take on it, but I doubt he AAs again.  I don't know if there's enough time left in the season for Sasso to settle in at 157 and be a real contender in March.

I agree with this, even though I'd like to see Mendez vs. Parco. It would also do DDE dirty, so there's that. But even if Mendez bumps up and loses, it'd likely be a decision at worst so tOSU would net out a minimum of +1 on the team score if Davino can bonus Jace, which wouldn't be a tall ask. If Mendez and DDE stay put, Jesse would have to at least tech Rhodes to net out more team points than the bump-up-and-lose scenario; but if Mendez bumps up and he and Davino both win that's probably a +7pt swing for the Buckeyes.

I think this is the sort of rhetoric people take issue with regarding Feldman.

No one is saying he's bad, but he's taken losses to guys many of us don't expect to be anywhere near NCAA titles, thus a reluctance to simply crown him as next in line.

Case in point: the 2024 NWCA All-Star Classic. Yes, I know Ghadiali's out for the year.
