Lets play off the other thread. What, in your opinion, was the most entertaining match of all time? A link to said match would be most appreciated...I'll start.

Jordan Burroughs vs Jordan Leen - 2008 CKLV Finals

Leen was the defending national champ. Burroughs won the weight later on in the year in a LOADED 157 bracket.

A lot of McIlravy matches.

Start with this one:

Skip most of the Bono matches.

P.S. I had Nolf in my top 15 college faves of all-time on the other thread.  I realized I had omitted McIlravy.  It really was no contest.  Gotta go with Lincoln.

Lewboo had to cut weight to make scratch, Sarkissian was allowed to weigh in 7 lbs over.  Lewboo didn't like that.

Vincenzo Joseph vs Alex Marinelli 3

  • Hostile environment.
  • One point dual with PSU needing this one for a chance (they lost anyway).
  • Marinelli leads the series 2-0 at this point.
  • Two guys who love the upper body ties.
  • Many upper body ties.
  • Blood. Lots and lots of blood.

I didn't want to say this one (Prescott is one of my all-time favorites), but yes.  Good action.

I didn’t look yet.  Easy to find.  Some of the t brands Joe Gilbert matches are exciting.   I don’t remember the score but double digit scoring.   I think there are two good ones one from big10s and one from NCAAs.

The impossible leg!

Does it have to be folk?

If not, for pure entertainment value it is hard to beat the complete meltdown by Musukaev in this one. He looks exhausted 120 seconds into this match. I am guessing he closed the bars in Instanbul the night before.

From 9-0 to DQ'd. Priceless.

Focusing on the key word "Entertaining" than its a tie between Nickal/Martin '18 & Caldwell/Metcalf '09.   Hard to imagine the Caldwell/Metcalf match wouldn't win this at an awards show.

An example of match where 3pt TD would have changed result.  Abas would have won here with the 3pt scoring.  Fun match.

Another match with a lot of entertainment value was Perry-Hendicks '07. The match itself wasn't that special until the last minute (it was electric) had the family storyline plus lots of Hendricks haters.   Another classic for this list.

Adding some international flavor. Lopez Azcuy(Cuba) v. Hasasnov (AZE) for Bronze in 2012 Olympics in the bad, old, best- of-three period format. Hasanov gets the go ahead with 30 seconds and Lopez losing with 11 seconds to go, gets a 5 point throw, then a pin,  and pounds the chest of the still flat Hasanov, then pounds his chest and then rips his singlet. Epic!
