Wouldn’t that be transfer alert?

Unless the younger one is deferring enrollment this year?

All of this commotion for Charlie Darracott. 😂

I really think the alarm or whatever you want to call it emoji should be reserved for someone that is someone that is at least close to a top 10 guy upon their arriving. No offense to young Charlie.. but I'm not familiar with his work.

Exception: Hendrickson. He’s a commissioned officer in the USAF.

Many AF Academy grads go to grad school prior to active duty.    This one was weird because he still had eligibility available.

I'm well aware. I went to grad school with one, and worked with him a couple years later, a couple thousand miles away, as well.

Generally speaking, though, they aren't going to school to pursue athletic goals; they are getting an advanced technical degree that has value to the USAF, like my friend who used automatic object recognition and GIS to develop tools to detect buildings damaged by hurricanes and earthquakes. He had a much stricter timeline than anyone else and defended his thesis after three semesters. Departed for his next duty station before fall semester graduation.

Correct - all 3 military academies require that you finish school with the class you entered with.

Covid year.

Wonder if anyone else will try something similar with med redshirts or Olympic years?  There seems to be some resistance to it, which I understand.  My understanding was that even Hendicksen was not 100% sure it was all going to work out as late as August.

Interestingly, I think he is hoping that he is allowed to do his service close enough to Stillwater so that he can be in Cowboy RTC after graduation. (or at least have it as an option)

My understanding was that it's settled that he'll operate out of Tinker AFB in OKC and represent the AF in wrestling while training at Cowboy RTC

I think that is a possibility.  A strong one.  I'm not sure it has all been determined yet, especially seeing how his current situation wasn't fully given approval until very late in the game.  I'm going off my interpretation of what he said on Bader's show last month.
