I can't imagine what a shitshow it would be if that angry little leprechaun was in charge.

32 person brackets. That was just the quarters.  Semis start first thing in the morning.

McCarthy is not out.  Jefferies trying to form a coalition government.  Jumping Gym is getting dialed in.  People - smart people - the best people! - are talking about Trump flying in to unite the party under his leadership.  Grab the popcorn, this is hysterical and historical.

Jordan is pretty close to offering to wrestle everyone in trial by combat.

Honestly I don’t think Jordan really wants the job. He is able to be much more of that attack dog from where he is  currently than if he was made Speaker. The Speaker is tasked more with keeping the House flowing and in some cases having to bargain with the opposing side to move bills along.  Jordan has more freedom call out the Dems by remaining where he is without the issue of taking the Speakers blame for the House being completely stalled out for the next two years.  In sports terms he likes being the team enforcer and you don’t usually make that type your team captain.

By the way, Bobby Good (of Virginia) is a former high school state champion wrestler who went on to wrestle for Liberty University when it was an NCAA program:

I think he's supporting Rep. Jordan, too.

Hastert, Jordan, Good...

As I read through those rules it struck me as amusing that on two occassions in the 1800s when they could not reach a majority they passed a resolution to settle for a plurality (which was then ratified by a majority). If they did that on any of the first three votes yesterday a Republican Congress would have chosen a Democratic Speaker.

Why is a quorum not required for the presidential election?

Why are voters allowed to vote by mail for the presidency but not for the speaker?

What is the reasoning behind the difference in policies?
