Does a person need to be affiliated with a school to get those prices?

I believe so (limited number of tix sold through ticket office).

It makes sense to prioritize fair pricing for friends and family.  Unfortunately for me, I am neither.

... and here i thought we were internet friends ... I will have trouble sleeping tonight.  😕

Haha well I consider us the same, although I'm not sure the qualification is honored by the schools that you may be part of 🙂

NCAA tournament has been selling out pretty much every year since quit having at university arenas starting with St Louis.  Difference is we used to get all the tickets allocated to the universities and distributed/sold to fans.  I don't see how scaplers making a boat lad on the tickets helps wrestling.

The NCAA should probably raise prices 5x and hold the tournament in Tokyo.  🙄

Holding it where the fans don't live causes ticket prices to drop. So NCAAs should be held in North Dakota so they stay affordable.

A lot of people have never been to a Super Bowl, but that hasn't destroyed fan interest around the country. Funny how televised sports work.

Lmfao at comparing wrestling to the NFL. The NFL is not a regional dying niche sport, and the Super Bowl is held all over the country. Hope that helps!

Ticket demand for the NCAA Wrestling Tournament goes up every year. This year, Penn State alone expects 25,000 members of the Nittany Lion Club to put in for tickets. That's more than the capacity of the arena.

Ah yes, like all those times the Super Bowl was held in North Dakota. It's a good thing the NFL didn't desert those fans by playing the game elsewhere.

Let's not forget Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi .... need I continue?

Every year I join the local University's wrestling booster club and give a fairly sizable donation. In return,  I get the opportunity to buy some of that University's allotment of tickets.   Luckily, my local University has hosted the NCAA tournament a few times, so they had a better selection of tickets.

I'm thinking the top ten teams from previous year gets lower bowl.?

I've never fact checked that, though, I think someone will.

Want to revive this thread to ask a genuine question - is it worth going on Stubhub or a second party site to find tickets for the championship round this early, or just wait until it gets closer to competition time?  I was planning on buying a ticket for a Christmas gift.

Used to be the case but doubtful it still is.

Think about it ... everyone knows who is going to win NCAAs, no one knows who will win CKLV.  Get you butt to Vegas and buy the $50 all session ticket.  Added benefit you can sit mat side and The Focus might personally flex in your face and give you the double bird.  😉

From past experience playing this game, the cheapest tickets from third-party resellers are available just a day or so before the individual session.  However, I doubt you are going to find cheap tickets this year (except for perhaps on Thursday), given the proximity to such a large fan base and the associated high demand.  A couple years ago in Tulsa, they were practically giving away tickets at the last minute -- including for the finals.  Those hoping to resale tickets for a profit got burned, being forced to unload their tickets for much less than it cost them.  That certainly won't be the case this year.  No matter when you buy your tickets, if they are resale tickets that you purchase through a third-party reseller, expect to pay more than face value -- and perhaps significantly more.

I'd love some deadlift tips from the Focus.  Not sure if that'll cost extra.
