His mom works for the school, that helped a hard lean for him. Does he end up starting this year IYO?

Chris appears to be slated at 141, which is not good for his odds of starting. 149 would be his best chance to avoid Greyson Clark (141) and Joey Blaze (157) in the lineup. Barring something unknown like Clark going up to 149, I would be shocked to see Coates try and drop to 141 and even then I doubt he could make it. He wrestled 149 unattached at multiple events last year and looked big. 1 1

His uncle was another state qualifier for their prestigious wrestling program in NE Indiana and I believe helped coach at some level as well. Edited November 5 by GopherINOHLand
