FLO just posted a video of AJ demoing his fast twitch technique at the gym via Facebook about an hour ago.  The short video is tough to stomach yet he does add excitement to the heavyweights imo.

Short ... its 7:34 ... I could barely stomach 34 seconds.

Heavyweight is the perfect weight class for him. Boring 4-1 matches where nothing happens for 6:57 is right up his alley. He could legitimately go for the Hodge this year at a weak 285 if he actually pressed the gas pedal, but that would require him to not drop to his knees and back up every possible moment in neutral and we all know he can ride harder than a tijuana donkey show but he doesn't turn anyone. I don't see either changing. He is going to be the most jacked dancing bear of all time.

AJ might win this year because that weight is pretty thinned out of talent /experience, but most former Hwt Champs were better.

It would be easy to name some who were not.

Which recent HWT NCAA Champ would he beat? How far do we have to go back?

Pre Snyder?  Or is it possible Snyder is/was scared of spiders?

Ionel, please name your top 5 or 10 that he would beat at Hwt. Maybe I can be convinced.

Im busy today but maybe if @cowcards or @Wrestleknownothing can dig up a list of hwt champs I can do it tonight.  He certainly would've beaten John Lockhart.  Focus is lucky to not be in prison thus was sure to win the coin flip.

I went back to 1980, I consider myself a Fatman expert...

If, and I mean If, he could beat any I would say the following.

Tolly Thompson 1995 (NE)
Jeff Walter 1996 (WI)
John Lockert 2001 (IL)
Dustin Fox 2008 (NW)
David Zabriskie 2010 (ISU)
Anthony Cassar  2019 (PSU)

Just my .02 (I learn more towards he may not beat any of them)

Nice List.

I'm not sold on Ferrari at Hwt ........................... yet. Can his frame handle the big guys? Time will tell.

One of those guys I like for sure against AJ, and that is Tolly Thompson. Athletic and big and strong. Not sure AJ could ride him at all.

I'm with you on Thompson.  He also won a World Bronze and is a NWHOF member.

No one beats Lockhart in overtime. NO ONE. Heads he wins, tails you lose.

Tolly is borderline for me on that, I have direct experience with him...

Ok more recents I got:

1) Lockhart - like I said Focus is just lucky.  Lucky to be wrestling, lucky to be in college, lucky to not be in prison.  A coin flip is nothing for him.  Sure @bnwtwg has a good point and i like John I've eaten steak with the guy but even if he won the flip the Ferrari family lawyer would jump in and make them flip again.  How many times can the reflip come up heads.

2)  Zabriskie - he just wouldn't.

3) Walter - just not a better small guy

4) Fox - nope

5) Mocco - well now you're prob gonna ask which Mocco the Iowa Mocco or the OSU Mocco.  Well I hope the Iowa version but it could be either.  How are ya gonna footsweep a spider?  Now you might be thinking there are lots of legs on that spider it should be easy but there's only two that matter and no one gets to the focus feet.

There are some others but it's been a long day.

Lockhart got that doctor money since h wasn't able to do any Draft Kings NIL advertising so you know he he can afford a better lawyer than whatever Focus is putting on layaway retainer.

I hate to say it because he sucks as a person, but he runs the "gauntlet" of Rey-Fox, might beat Nelson that feels like a <s>crappy match</s> crapshoot. He would never beat Lockhart because of the above so I could never even entertain that silly thought and he would have a 50/50 chance against Y2K monster Lesnar because his modern movement and cardio and gtf out of bounds awareness are, ugh, superior.

He would do just fine against Tommy Rowlands and McCoy. He would do just fine against Wyatt too. He was a champ at 197, a much better weight class than heavy. Don't let your hate get in the way of facts.

Rowlands and McCoy would both smoke Focus like a blunt in Vancouver. Not sure about Hendrickson, that feels like 10 matches they split 5 each because Wyatt is too inconsistent.
