Wow! Awesome match from Hildebrandt! Incredible defense and perfectly planned and executed attacks. So pumped for her! Hope she can put together one more awesome match for the gold!

How are y'all watching WFS? I am only seeing a stream for Men's Greco right now on Peacock.

It’s in the men’s Greco one “Greco 60kg & more.”  They started with Greco, then went to women’s now back to Greco

Really good to hear that Hildebrandt won her semis...  women going 2 for 2 into the finals.

Impressive!

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

2 GR weights and 1 WFS weight per day, until GR swaps out for MFS later in the week.

Should be 6 GR bouts before we switch to the 2 WFS bronze medal matches then Elor.

2 for 2 in medals to start you love to see it Sarah is 0-2 against Vinesh but she was 1-2 against the Mongolian she is wrestling outstanding.

I don't put too much stock into Hildebrandt's losses in 2019. Well, not as much as the fact that Vinesh beat Suzaki today.

Vinesh didn't look unbeatable in her first two matches, though.

Does UWW charge cash for challenges? If they do, should they increase the fee? Because if not, we're ruining some great moments with these futile challenges.

I learned yesterday that the gymnasts pay $300 for a challenge...and that used to be cash, which resulted in coaches approaching the judges and hurling cash at them in protest. Not as dramatic as our Mongolian friends, but still.

That's where I got the idea. The penalty point at the end of a bout isn't enough of a deterrent for some of these crappy Hail Marys. Maybe a total number of challenges per country based on number of entrants, as we do with NCAAs.

We are in full agreement! So many of these have been unwarranted. Why stop everything to reexamine how poorly you just lost, only to reinforce that you lost poorly?

Thinking Coon's side of the bracket was a little tougher than the Cuban Chilean's... 🤪

... and Acosta's not chopped guacamole either.

I remember in 96 we at the head table were in communication with the folks mat side. They would let us know if a coach approached the FILA (now UWW) table and dropped the 400 Swiss francs there for a protest. But those were post match protests. I don't believe they charge these days. Would actually take more time as they'd have to go to the closest ATM!

Buxton was the "escort" (don't read anything into that phrase) for a wrestler from the Philipines as I recall. He walked off losing like 8-1. He thought he should have had another score. He dropped off the cash with Buxton telling him not to bother (I don't believe they got the money back). The coach was right- after rescoring he lost 9-3!
