It could be the lack of understanding that the VP is actually part of the ticket, that you don't realize that it's your own problem if you vote for somebody you don't like, or that people vote for people (including those at the top of the ticket) they don't like all the time. Guys, this isn't kindergarten. This shouldn't be that hard. The VP is on the ticket. When you vote for president you are also voting for the VP to be second in line. There is no time or infrastructure for that in this situation which is why *both parties* have rules written into their nomination process to account for these emergency situations. If democrats do not consent to Kamala being the nominee, they have the choice not to vote for her in the general. Just like supporters of the normal primary losers are welcome not to vote for the nominee in the general. I supported Bernie in 2020 and did not vote for Biden in the general. That's democracy.
