Shooter was shot and has been pronounced dead. There several other people wounded. Possibly one person was fatality shot.

Correction to OP - "hit him on the side of the head" is incorrect.

He's fine. The blood was coming from his ear, not his head. 

Specifically, the upper part of the ear where fake wrestlers have cut themselves (or people close to them did) for decades to use real blood to make fake incidents look real without doing any real damage at all.

That was right before the "iconic" photos. Not my word, that word has already been posted by Trump fans all over the place, and is already being used as a promotional tool. It's even been used here in the other thread on the topic.

Oh, and right after Trump started his brief speech where he was constantly looking to his right for some odd reason. That struck me as quite odd as I watched it. But - then again, if he looked directly at the audience, there could be no explanation how his ear could have stopped a bullet without hitting his head.

I won't even get started on the BBC interview about the people who were pointing out the guy with the rifle on the roof while SS and police ignored them.

No conspiracy theory here. Just some thoughts to share.

It'll be interesting to find out the 'shooter's story - and if anybody in the audience was hurt (at this point, that has been reported, but not yet confirmed.)

One thing that is guaranteed. This will keep Trump in the headlines and conversations for the next week.

Photos seemed to show that it grazed the skin on the side of the head before it hit his ear.  But photos can be deceptive and isn't the ear on "the side of the head?"  Wait ... what was your point?

You've got access to the burning gun (literally and figuratively) on video.

Pay particularly close attention to the SS sniper shooting (listen and count the shots) while Trump (who is looking constantly to his right) says "take a look" then covers his ear and kneels down.

This thing is starting to stink like crazy.

He may be right about the smell, but wrong about the direction.  Fletcher Prouty advised that coups happen not with a superior force making an assault, but rather when the guard is pulled back just enough to let the assassin in.  For all the praise the Secret Service is getting, they didn’t prevent anything.

Not at all saying it is a scripted ploy, BUT if it were, ‘hiring’ someone who doesn’t know better, with full promise of their security, then giving them blanks and walking them to their death so that they cannot talk after, is not exactly a stretch of the imagination. 
 

I don’t know about ploy but there is a lot of wow here.  Shooter being able to get to a rooftop in that location is very wow.

The ‘ploy’ is to not shoot the shooter until he’s done his job or becomes a liability.  He wasn’t shooting blanks.

You mean the question posed by Paul?  RL doesn’t know what he’s seeing.  Trump was looking and gesturing to the right because there was a screen there displaying charts and graphs that he was speaking about.

I’m saying that if this was a ploy, as RL is suggesting, the shooter being dead does nothing to as far as evidence of not being a ploy. I’m saying a shooter being set up to walk into his own death in that kind of a situation is not a stretch.
