Transfer Portal

A few notable new entries:

Jake Woodley (197) of Oklahoma

Serrano (133) and Haas (184) of Nebraska

Koonzt (125) and Koonzt (133) or the Ohio State

Woodley will be a one-off but worth it wherever he goes.  Michigan needs a 197lber badly.

The Koontz bros could start and compete for a MAC or SOCON title almost immediately if the right school arises.

Serrano and Haas would surthrive in the MAC or SOCON as well.

I stalk Woodley on IG since I have been hoping UofM picks a 197lber up from the portal and Buchanan weren't available.

Also Serrano has been known a while, I think?

Surprised by the Koontz bros, though.  They could end up being in there out of requirement?  Perhaps they are both graduating this mester and must enter a Graduate program for the next?

So here is a dumb question - anyone who has already wrestled for school A this season - cannot wrestle and be eligible for school B in this - this same season?

And so these transfers being listed are mostly with regard to next season?

Well Woodley can't wrestle next season.  This season is his last.

The Koonzt, I am not sure.  If what you say is correct, then what I said is a likely scenario - in regards to a graduate program.  More of a formality sort of thing.

Serrano and Haas both have redshirts available for this season?, I believe.

Didn't Pete lipari wrestle for Rutgers in the fall and then Rider in the spring?

Since its so late in the game, I wonder if Roselli would need to sign off on Woodley leaving similar to Burwick and Wisconsin

I would think most entering the portal this late likely graduated this semester.  Then I don't bekieve a sign off would be required.  But they could alternatively have a hardship situation to get a waiver.

Only if neither of the preceding apply, they are as student athlete in good standing, and they were not allowed to compete or practice, then their current school would have to certify they are being given "No Participation Opportunity."

This one is intriguing. Morgan State in Maryland is a public and one of the historically black colleges (HCBU).  It does not currently field a team but plans to restart its program in DI in 23/24.  Marsh is from Ohio.

Is Woodley eligible this year second semester only? Or does he have a full year of eligibility?

Pretty sure only 2nd mester.
