Any guess on the postseason lineup? Particularly 125-157

I think until proven otherwise the guys I posted first are it.

Swiderski is going to be tough to keep off the mat.  Rojas will push Gaitan and Riggins.  I think Chittum and Swiderski keep their shirt in the end, though.

I like Gaitan a lot at 165 I may put too much weight into that super 32 win over haines but I always have high expectations

Hard to see either Swiderski being okay with redshirting. Sounds like he is a wild man so perhaps they will have him to use his eligibility while he still has it.

Minnesota
125 - Cooper Flynn
133 - Tyler Wells
141 - Vance Vombaur
149 - Blaine Brenner maybe, Drew Roberts hurt
157 - Tommy Askey
165 - Sparks/Whiting loser
174 - Sparks/Whiting winner
184 - McEnelly
197 - Salazar/Nelson wrestle off
285 - Tabor, Hopke redshirt

149 is a hole, HWT TBD. Hearing Tabor finally put on some really good weight.

My guess for PSU:

  • 125- Lilledahl
  • 133- Davis (possible: Nagao)
  • 141- BB
  • 149- SVN
  • 157- Kasak
  • 165- Haines (possible: MM)
  • 174- MM (possible: Haines, Facundo, Ryder)
  • 184- Cstar
  • 197- Barr
  • HWT- Kerk

IDK man, this seems like a good team.

Has Whiting been cutting for some time.  I know at Mizzou he was 184 and didn’t look like he could drop 10-20lbs and keep his strength/stamina.  Just curious.

I have not heard that Roberts is injured?  Is he out for the year?

Been told he’s walking around below 180

He had no spot in the lineup at Mizzou except 184. 165-KOT, 174-Mocco 184 Hawks was a returning NQ, 197-Rocky. Harmon was also 184, just a lot of kids kids for one weight class. He and Harmon have transferred. From what I’ve been told he came on campus around 190, and wanted to go 174 initially. Good luck to him at Minny.

Why do you think Teague Travis is gonna lose to John Wiley? He smacked Wiley last year 11-2. Wiley has been an interesting case study because since he beat Paniro 2 years ago he really doesn't have another meaningful win.

Wiley was all over the place, and I agree, inconsistent; hell let's be honest, he has been a disappointment. I think he is figuring things out, and could be decent this year. Again, I could be wrong. Travis is not a major decision better than Wiley, I can tell you that.

I am going to say you were correct on the call at 141 with Frost, but I will stick with my 125 prediction. I think Grice starts at 125, he looks really, really, really (3 really's) good. Right now, it is Grice, Terukina, Oz. Casey 100% RS's, Chittum in the air. I am told PJ and him will rank off at 157, and loser could go up. I have heard rumors about Gaitan to 165, but not official. If that is true, then I do believe Chittum RS's. I will ask about it. Big 12 will be fun again this year.

Listen man, we are both wrestling fans.  Nobody is wrong there and you are definitively more 'in the know' on ISU things.  My stance was more on morality conflicts where both Frost brothers had dreams of wrestling together.

Hard to imagine Whiting down at 165. I can see 174 but man, 165 would be quite the cut even is he is walking around at 180 now. This will be a very balanced dual team for Minny. TBD  on how well it will translate to march. The could have 5 AA's with a couple of high placing AA's (Flynn with the insanity of 125, McEnelly being the most likely to make a high podium push in my mind) or they could walk away with 2 or 3 low AA's total. Have you heard anything on how Wells has been looking? I would not be surprised to see him make a leap this year.

Looking at Flo’s rankings, they have eight guys ranked in the top 13, but only two in the top 8. Seems like that’s been the story of the team the last few years. A bunch of really solid guys, but no absolute stand outs (except Gable obviously).

FWIW, I don’t think Sparks beats Whiting in a wrestle off and think Sparks will go 165.

Haven’t heard on Wells. I’m a little nervous he can’t make 133 again, but we will see. He was a split second from AA as a true freshman, I’d love to see a jump too.

Not going back 19 pages so if it's been posted sorry:

Guess on Lehigh

125  Seymour

133 Crookham

141 Hines (would guess Stanich redshirts for Hines last year)

149 Griffin (hope his neutral game has improved, if it has he's dangerous)

157 Brignola (if Brignola shirts as rumors suggest then could be any of 4 including true freshman))

165 Dubler (total guess)

174 Rylan Rogers

184 Wilt or Caden Rogers (toss up)

197 Beard

285 Taylor

Interesting lineup with question marks in the middle

2024-25 SDSU Jackrabbits

125- Tanner Jordan (returning AA)

133- Derrick Cardinal (returning NQ)

141- Caleb Gross / Avery Allen

149- Daniel Kimball / Avery Allen / Cade Siebrecht (I think Martin with take a medical year)

157- Cobe Siebrecht (I think Swenson will take a medical year)

165- Drake Rhodes

174- Cade Devos (returning AA)

184- Bennett Berge (returning AA)

197- Zach Glazier (returning NQ)

HWT- Luke Rasmussen
