Someone should send the Wyoming Sports info guys a note.  They mention Volk making the U20 World team but they don't seem to know that he was the U20 World Gold medalist that year. That isn't even listed in his career highlights.

Maybe he doesn't want his Folkstyle career to be highlighted by a Freestyle accolade?

They mention him making the team but don't say he won the Gold?  Seems like an oversight to me.

I actually agree with you, just playing devil's advocate on this one.

8 matches to 2 for OSU.  I will give Belton 1 win for Sooners.  2 tossup matches at 149 and 197 so I figure a split.  The rest is all Cowboys.

Cleveland Belton making the cut to 133 for Oklahoma

Wow - this is surprising.... it's been a very long time since he has been at 133. He was an average 141 and a little all on the tall side -  8 lbs will be a tough cut. Cleveland is a good kid - always enjoyed him at OSUW - I hope he does well there.

It's going to take me a while to get used to the names in the OSUe lineup.

Have you heard something about Picklo making the cut to 165? If I remember right he was a 195 in high school.

I haven't heard anything personally, but just saw that WS has penciled him into the slot.

He will be BIG at 165. Probably needs to make 165 to be a starter with Sax transferring in. I have always though Picklo was going to make the jump to be an AA contender (probably tainted because I watched him beat Devos in Brookings). Perhaps this will be the year.

I was surprised too.  I thought he was closer to 149 than 133.  He looked very long for 141 and that length gave guys problems (including Bartlett).  If he can make the 133 and still have some level of strength, he could be a really tough out

I admittedly only watched Belton against Bartlett and at NCAA's but it seemed like closing matches was an issue for him. I can't really imagine being sucked out is going to help with that but maybe the size advantage will allow him to manage the match better.

There was definitely more talk of him bumping up to 149 than ever going down to 133. He will have to learn to use that length at 133 to his advantage.

Why do you think Teague Travis is gonna lose to John Wiley? He smacked Wiley last year 11-2. Wiley has been an interesting case study because since he beat Paniro 2 years ago he really doesn't have another meaningful win.

Barr at 197 for a year is looking more and more like actual points on the board at NCAAs. He smashed his way to the U20 86kg finals today.

OSU

125 - Kilkeary
133 - Bouzakis
141 - Mendez
149 - D'Emillio
157- Gallagher
165 - Hepner
174 - Welsh/Kharch
184 - Rogotzke/Welsh
197 - Geog/Shumate
285 - Feldman

I like McCrone, I believe Kilkeary gets the early starts and McCrone has to win the spot back. Hepner starts.
I can't see Sasso at 65 (which has been mentioned) or Kharch at 84. Maybe Rogotzke RS's and Welsh goes 84? Geog / Shumate is a push for me.
65 to 97 depends on too many things to be sure of anything...🚍
