Will Starocci come back if....

O'Toole wins his third title and calls Starocci out for next year? Could we get a real life vision quest with a 3xer trying to stop the first 5xer with messenbrink as potential spoiler (David will be done this year right?). Could this happen?

Please?

For me this is the only story that could surpass the Shane Griffith story as story of the decade in college wrestling. If we could get all the way to the end it would be possibly the biggest American wrestling match of all time.

Nope.  He's going to focus on the Olympics and then MMA.  I think the only way he doesn't come back is if he DOESN'T win NCAAs this year.

What if Keegan threatens to throw a hook over the top?

I think if you see Amine and O'Toole go up he might.  Amine's Uncle already called him out on social media and Sta(l)rocci would love to shut the Amine's up.  I am all for that noise.  NCAA Amine is undefeated against guys he lost to during the NCAA season so... O'Toole going up would also be a callout and I don't think Sta(l)rocci is a coward in any sense of the word.  A punk?  Yes.  A badass?  Yes.  A coward?  Nope.

Man you must have a low opinion of starocci, you think he's that childish.

Amine isn’t in the same universe as Carter Starocci. Mike Amine should just STFU. Cam Amine shoudn't be mentioned in the same thread as Starocci.

The only remotely comparable people are KOT and Carter's own teammate, Aaron Brooks.

Yeah, I was a bit confused about how Amine got added into this conversation.  Last time I watched a PSU-UM meet, he was getting thoroughly embarrassed by MM.

I think if they hit at the trials and Keegan were to beat him that may fuel the fire but I personally don't think collegiate wrestling has anything left to offer him although NIL can change that a bit.

Fail to see the relevance. Vito may win two titles to Carter’s likely 4.

4-3-1-X
Again, the only two current wrestlers who should be mentioned in the same conversation as Carter re: Folkstyle wrestling are KOT and AB. People who both have the chance to win 4.

That's crazy.   You actually can discuss guys who are a similar tier even if they don't have the exact same resume.

Vito's title was more impressive than any of Carters and he has more wins over National Champs in the finals than Carter.

Carter's finals wins: Kemerer (0 titles), Lewis (1 title), Labs (0 titles)

Vito final wins: RBY (2 Titles).

2 > 1.

Vito is also the more accomplished freestyle wrestler.

Don't get me wrong, Carter has had the better career but it is not beneath him to be mentioned in the same thread as Vito.

If the people throwing money around care about wrestling as a whole they should do everything in their power to make this happen. Throw money at both of them and try to get them to clash 2 maybe 3 times next year. It would be huge for the sport.

I agree that Vito's win against RBY was very impressive, I still sort of agree with Le Duke that he and Star are in different categories.  I don't think that is a slight to Vito in anyway as he is one of the greats, but being on the verge of 4/5 is in it's own category with those that have or are in the running to achieve that.

They would be more likely to roll out someone like barraclough than let him wrestle kot 2 times during the regular season.

that would be far and away the biggest match since dake vs taylor and with the prevalence of social media now likely bigger.

I would agree if we were discussing the Greats or 4Xers.

Vito only got brought into the conversation after Le Duke claimed that "only remotely comparable people " are the two guys who can be 4xers (KOT and AB) to which someone mentioned Vito's freestyle credentials are better.  Then the goalpost were move to just folkstyle.
