A lot of top 15 matchups in this one. One of the better duals of the weekend.

125: Davis vs #15 Kaylor

133: #4 Nagao vs #26 Whisenhunt

141: # Bartlett vs #25 Belton

149: Kasak or Evans vs #12 Singleton (UPSET ALERT!)

157: #1 Haines vs Crosby

165: #12 Mesenbrink vs. #10 Olguin (UPSET ALERT!)

174: #1 Starocci vs #7 Wittlake

184: #2 Truax vs #6 Munoz

197: #1 Brooks vs #30 Rademacher

285: #1 Kerkvliet vs #12 McDermott

I'd like to point out that I don't think Mesenbrink beating Olguin or Kasak beating Singleton would be upsets; I EXPECT them to happen. I think Davis will give Kaylor a good match, too. Might be a bit too early to expect a win but he's susprised me so far.

I don't think OSUw scores more than 6 team points.

I have Kaylor beating Davis, and then all PSU. Kasak and Mesenbrink pull out a W each. MDs for Haines, Brooks and Kerk.

30-3 final score.

Hard to see any of the top 15 matchups going wOSU's way.

It is going to be a tough night for Oregon State. It Should be a great dual though.

I'll go 30  to 6, Penn State. Should be some really good matches however,

Why does PSU always seem to wrestle a weak schedule prior to B10 duals? I mean, who have they taken on so far? Hofstra? Lehigh?

meanwhile, tOSU, for example, has faced VA tech, NC State, CKLV, Cornell tomorrow , among others. Look at most of the other top teams and you find they’ve all wrestled tougher schedules than the number 1 ranked team. Wth?

I would argue that Ohio State has the toughest schedule this season regardless of Hofstra, Columbia and Edinboro.

PSU does what PSU does. It works fine for them, no slight there.

Maybe it’s one of the keys to their success. Avoid top competition as much as possible, let the rest of the field beat each other up, then swoop in at the end and clean house

They avoided top competition so much that they went 4-1 at the All Star classic, with wins at 149, 174, 197 and 285 and a loss at 184.

Beau Bartlett avoided it by beating Joey McKenna, Matt Kolodzik and Luke Pletcher, and losing to Andrew Alirez.

That should be a really good match. Who won the last time and what was the score?

You have a good argument.

Good observation. Two different paths to get to their destination.

Yes, I’m aware. The all star classic was hosted by psu, no? Wouldn’t be a good look to dodge obvious matches there. And, I think it was pretty clear that I was questioning why they don’t schedule top competition in *team* events, like dual meets and tournaments such as cklv.

I'm assuming Cael & company have found a formula that works best for their wrestlers.  Probably why he gets paid the big bucks

Not sure why this may have been in previous seasons, but this year they said they had a light schedule to allow guys to get ready for the US Open and a run at the Olympic Trials.

What are you talking about?  There is not record of any such event.  Even Wkn knows there is no such thing.  You are just making stuff up aren't you?  😉

125 is without a doubt the most interesting one. Davis has looked very good for a true freshman, bonusing everyone he has wrestled except the 2 NQ level guys, which is better than I expected especially since he wasn't considering some can't miss prospect coming in (in the 40s on Willie's big board I believe) This will be his first major test.

125 is open and him beating Kaylor would throw him into the conversation to be on the podium as well.

I favor Kaylor, but not by a lot.  I wouldn't be surprised if Davis won and if Oregon State ultimately gets shutout.  The underdog supporter in me will be rooting for the Beavers

I would favor Kaylor as well, 6th year senior and former AA with a W over Ayala this year but similar to you, would not be shocked if Davis won.
